Snack roll "Herring under a fur coat"

Everyone's favorite herring under a fur coat can be prepared not only as a salad, but also as an appetizer. It will certainly become a real decoration of the festive table.

We will need:

  • herring fillet - 100-150 gr
  • potatoes - 300 gr
  • carrots - 100 gr
  • beets - 150 gr
  • egg - 2 pcs
  • green onion
  • mayonnaise -2 tbsp. spoons

Cooking:

1. Boil vegetables and eggs. Cool them and grind the vegetables in a puree, all separately.

2. Add a little mayonnaise to each puree.

3. Grate eggs and also mix with a small amount of mayonnaise.

4. Cut the herring into small pieces.

5. Green onions, two feathers are enough to cut smaller.

6. Line the roll mat with cling film. Spread the "carpet" green onions, then herring, potatoes, carrots, beets and eggs.

7. Wrap in a roll, wrap in cling film and put in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours to cool.


8. Ready roll take out and cut with a sharp knife into pieces of the same size.

Jelly snack with herring and vegetables "Kalleidoscope"

We will need (for 6 servings):

  • slightly salted herring - 2 fillets
  • boiled egg - 1 pc.
  • bell pepper - 0.5 pcs
  • boiled carrots - 1 pc.
  • bulb onions. red is better - 1 pc.
  • dill - 2-3 sprigs
  • pickled cucumber - 1 pc.
  • sour cream - 200 gr, lemon juice - 1 teaspoon
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • gelatin - 15 gr
  • water - 40 ml.

Cooking:

1. Pour gelatin cold water and let it stand for a while to swell. Then dissolve in a water bath until completely dissolved.

2. Dice boiled carrots and bell peppers. Onion cut into small cubes.

3. Mix gelatin with sour cream, add pepper, carrot, onion and chopped egg to the mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste. Add lemon juice and chopped dill.

4. Lay a cling film on the table and put one part of the herring fillet on it, inside up.

5. Put half of the sour cream on top.

6. Cut the cucumber into long thin plates and “cover” the fish in the sour cream mixture like a blanket, placing the plates across.

7. Top with the remaining layer of sour cream mixture and lay out the second half of the fillet. We should get a “plump” fish with a fillet below and above.

8. Roll the herring tightly into a roll with a film and refrigerate overnight.


9. Cut the frozen roll into pieces with a sharp knife. Put on a plate, decorate as fantasy tells.

Rollmops in German

We will need:

  • slightly salted herring - 2 pcs (fillet - 4 pcs)
  • pickled gherkins - 5 pcs
  • bell pepper (red) -1 pc
  • onion - 1 pc.
  • mustard - 2 tbsp. spoons
  • white vinegar- 100 ml.
  • mustard seeds - 2 teaspoons
  • cloves - 3-4 buds
  • sugar, salt - 1 teaspoon each
  • ground black pepper - 0.5 tsp

Cooking:

1. Prepare the marinade. To boil water. Add sugar, salt, pepper and clove buds. Boil everything together for 2-3 minutes. Cool the broth a little.

2. Add mustard and wine vinegar. Let cool completely.

3. Cut the onion, bell pepper and gherkins into long thin strips.

4. Lightly beat off each layer of fillet and grease with mustard. If the herring is very large, then it can be carefully cut into two equal halves.

5. Put onions, peppers and gherkins across the herring layer.

6. Roll into a roll, fasten with a toothpick.

7. Put the rollmops in a bowl and pour over the marinade. Leave to marinate for at least a day.


But the most delicious rollmops are obtained on the 3rd day. Therefore, prepare them in advance so that by the New Year they will appear before you in their “full” taste!
