How many calories in vegetable oil a tablespoon. Composition and nutritional value

summer vegetables- low-calorie expanse for diet food. They can be fried, stewed, baked, made salads. However, if you use vegetable oil uncontrollably, you will not be able to become more elegant.

Surprisingly, for the sake of a thin waist, German women learned to fry potatoes in one teaspoon of oil. At first it seemed unrealistic to me. I tried it and found out that it is possible. Unfortunately, we are more familiar and tastier with a lot of oil, and this is our problem.

It's time to talk about the calorie content of vegetable oil.

We read on the bottle: volume - 1 liter, weight - 920 grams. Calorie content 100 grams - 899 kcal

By simple calculations we get:

in 1 gram of oil - 8.99 kcal.

It turns out in 100 ml - 92 g - 827 kcal.

In 1 ml of oil - 0.92 g - 8.27 kcal.

So, 200 ml vegetable oil = 184 g = 1654 kcal

To know exactly how much vegetable oil you use in salads, you can do this: pour 200 ml of vegetable oil into a glass in advance and pour it into salads from it during the day.

It is more convenient to do this from a measuring cup, because it usually has a spout. And then you will know exactly how many calories you get from vegetable oil daily. Using it by eye is very deceptive.

A friend of mine once told me that she was sitting on almost the same salads and had gained weight over the summer. I advised her to calculate the oil consumption. In response, I heard: “Yes, how much it goes there, very little.”

And after a while, she nevertheless reported that only a glass of vegetable oil a day was spent on salads for her alone. And this is, as we calculated, 1654 kcal. But oil is included in other dishes. So think for yourself.

I immediately remembered how Anna Veski, in the culinary program with Ivan Urgant, cooked vegetables in the oven and repeated several times that it was necessary to add a drop of oil, no more.

Of course, oil improves the taste when there is more than a drop of it. Unfortunately, you have to choose: not very tasty or hips, like the statue of a “woman with an oar”.

You can also measure vegetable oil with a tablespoon, but for this it would be good to know the exact weight of the oil in your spoon. Previously, we all used tables of measures of weight.

I have already made sure that the weight of the products in my spoons does not match the tables. Of course, the difference depends not only on the volume of the spoon, but also on the type of product, therefore, in the tables, the data on weight in volume are average.

Because as soon as I got a kitchen scale, I immediately weighed a tablespoon of oil. It turned out to be 10-12 grams. Why isn't it always the same? Because vegetable oil can be poured flush with the edges of the spoon, and sometimes it turns out with light bubble. If you pour carefully, do not rush, then there will be 10 grams.

Unfortunately, not everyone has a scale. Another simple and accurate method:

  • determine how many ml in our tablespoon. For this we need a medical syringe. The needle is optional. We scoop water into a spoon and carefully pour into a cup. We collect with a syringe and see how many ml are in our tablespoon. I got 11 ml.
  • Let's calculate how many grams of vegetable oil can fit in a spoon. We calculated above that in 1 ml of oil - 0.92 g. Then in a tablespoon I fit: 11 × 0.92 = 10.12 g.

And now it is interesting to look at the table of measures of weight in the old cookbook. It says that in a tablespoon there are 18 grams of water, i.e. 18 ml. Everything is clear, the spoon is bigger.

And let's calculate how much our oil will be in it: 18 ml × 0.92 g \u003d 16.56 g. And in the table there are 17 grams, that is, now everything is the same.

The conclusion suggests itself: if you use a table of measures of weight, you need to pay attention to the size of a tablespoon and a teaspoon. This can be seen in the table on the line water.

So, in my tablespoon 11 ml, 10 grams of vegetable oil, which means 90 kcal.

You can use the results of my measurements and from this article about vegetable oil.
