Ingredients

dark chocolate - 40 g.

How to make chocolate covered bananas

First, prepare the bananas. For dessert, fruits of any size and maturity are suitable. The main condition is that they must be frozen at least a little, otherwise the bananas will not (or will be bad) stick to the skewers. Plus, on chilled bananas, chocolate icing “sets” faster.


Keep the bananas in the freezer for at least 20 minutes, then peel them and cut into pieces. small bananas can be cut in half, larger ones - into 3-4 parts.


Then pierce the banana pieces with a skewer. I had long bamboo ones, which I tamed a little in advance. Make sure the bananas stick well on the skewer. If they slip, it makes sense to send them (bananas) to the freezer for a while.


Next, we cook chocolate icing. Everything is simple here. We break the chocolate into pieces, add cream to them and melt, stirring, either in a water bath or on a slight heating of the stove. The main thing is that the chocolate should not boil (otherwise it will curl up and the icing will be spoiled). A water bath can be made simply: pour water into a saucepan, bring to a boil and place a bowl of chocolate on top. It is better to take not glass, but metal, otherwise the dishes may burst.


The amount of cream depends on the quality of the chocolate, so it is best to add it gradually. I started with 4 tbsp. l., but eventually added 50 ml of cream. The icing should not be too thick - it will be difficult to cover the banana. It has a consistency similar to medium-fat sour cream.


When the icing is ready, let it cool a little (literally 5-10 minutes), then dip a banana on a skewer into it.


We stand the banana covered with chocolate for several seconds in an upright position, so that the excess glaze flows into a bowl, and put them in a glass. It's best to leave the bananas upright until the icing has set. It is desirable to set so that the bananas do not touch each other and the walls of the glass.


In the same place, in a glass, we decorate bananas with powder. Don't put iced bananas in a bowl of powder, you risk leaving some of the icing in the powder. I used confectionery sprinkles (for Easter cakes), the kids love these bright, colorful sprinkles. But it turns out no less tasty with coconut flakes, crushed nuts or sesame.
