  • Water - 2 tbsp.;
  • Sugar - 100 g;
  • Salt.

Salt is needed for blanching, and we take it at the rate of 1 tbsp. l. per liter of water. We wash the berries and blanch in brine for a couple of minutes. After that, we wash the berries again and cook them in already unsalted water (2 tbsp.).

The boiled rowan needs to be squeezed out. It is convenient to do this through gauze or a clean cloth. Having thus separated the juice from the cake, add sugar to the first and boil for about 10 minutes. After that, cool it a little and send it to the refrigerator. When the jelly hardens well, you can serve it to the table. Bon appetit!

Note! For children under 3 years old, mountain ash is contraindicated in food. And if there are diabetics, we replace sugar with honey or sweeteners.

Red rowan marmalade, a simple recipe

As you can see, you can cook a lot of things from red rowan. We will not bypass such a healthy delicacy as marmalade. To prepare it, you need to stock up on products in the following quantities:

  • Berries - 1 kg;
  • 800 g of granulated sugar;
  • 2 tbsp. water.

We remove the mountain ash from the branches, sort it out, removing spoiled berries, and wash it. Put the clean berries in a saucepan, fill with water and send to the stove. We set the fire to medium and cook the mountain ash until the berries soften. We wipe the soft berries through a sieve and add sugar to the puree. We mix everything well and send again to a slow fire to boil to get a delicious marmalade from red rowan according to the recipe of our grandmothers.

While the mixture is cooking, stir constantly with a wooden spoon. Do not allow the mixture to stick to the bottom of the pan. Prepare a plate for marmalade, for which we moisten the dish in cold water. Put the finished delicacy on a plate, level the layer over the surface and dry it in natural conditions.

You can also spread the finished marmalade on baking paper. In this case, we also spread it in a not too thick layer and dry it. Cut the dried mass into convenient pieces, sprinkle with sugar and put in glass containers. Banks must first be covered with paper (parchment), and then with a nylon lid. Rowan marmalade is stored in the refrigerator.

Winter sweets are not only sweets, dried fruits and summer preparations. In winter, it is quite possible to enjoy healthy and tasty desserts, such as red rowan jam with orange or apples, pumpkin, sugar or honey. Do not forget about such a healthy berry, as you can cook easily and simply.
