Canned Cracker Cake. Fish salad cake with crackers

200 - 250g. salted crackers (it took me 36 pieces, and the author has 48 round ones),
1 can - any canned fish (saury, tuna, pink salmon - I did with pink salmon),
a bunch of green onions (I made with red onions - 1 small onion)
4 - boiled eggs,
150 g - hard cheese,
1 tooth - garlic,
mayonnaise.

First, I finely chopped a small red onion and marinated it in water with salt, sugar and vinegar for 15-20 minutes. Then I poured the marinade through a strainer. I drained the liquid from pink salmon, mashed the fish with a fork, added onion and mayonnaise.
She rubbed the cheese on a medium grater, squeezed out a clove of garlic and mixed it with mayonnaise.
I cleaned the eggs, separated two yolks (left for the top layer), and rubbed the rest of the eggs on a medium grater, slightly salted and added mayonnaise.
So we got three types of fillings for our salad cake - fish, egg and cheese.
We will spread the salad in layers on a large plate or dish.

1 layer - crackers (I had 9 pieces in each layer);
2 layer - egg filling
3 layer - crackers
4 layer - fish stuffing
5 layer - crackers;
6 layer - cheese filling
7 layer - crackers.
Next, grease the top layer of crackers with mayonnaise and sprinkle with grated yolks on a fine grater (this time I got eggs with very bright yolks).
Decorate as desired. Let the salad stand for at least 2 hours at room temperature and 1 hour. in a refrigerator. But it is better for the salad to stand overnight (I made it in the evening and immediately put it in the refrigerator).

During the night, my salad was perfectly soaked and cut with a knife really like a cake. I just decorated it with dill, mayonnaise, ketchup, radish and parsley.

To prepare the salad you will need:

300 grams of salted crackers. Rectangular is better than round
1 can of canned pink salmon. but you can use other salmon, tuna or saury.

100 grams of any hard cheese

200 grams of mayonnaise

First of all, we take some kind of solid substrate so that our salad cake does not fall apart when moving. It can be both a cutting board and a plastic disposable box, see whichever is more convenient for you.

I did it in a box. And it’s better to do it right away on the dish on which the salad cake will be served.

Put a layer of crackers on the substrate.

Thickly smear with mayonnaise. You need more mayonnaise than a regular salad, it will soak dry cookies.

Finely three cheese and mix it with a chopped clove of garlic

Sprinkle this mixture on the first layer of crackers smeared with mayonnaise.

Lay the second layer of cookies on the cheese

We also smear it with mayonnaise and sprinkle with finely chopped green onions.

Drain the liquid from canned pink salmon, take out the bones, knead the fish, mix it with a small amount of mayonnaise and spread it on the onion.

Put another layer of crackers

Lubricate it with mayonnaise and sprinkle with finely chopped (you can even grate) the protein of boiled eggs.

Cover with mayonnaise. By the way, it’s convenient to do this - put about a teaspoon of mayonnaise on each cracker

And then carefully level the sauce

This is the last layer, sprinkle it with grated yolks, and set aside our dish in a secluded place for several hours so that the cracker is saturated with mayonnaise.

By the way, the order of the layers does not have to be the same as I indicated. You can, for example, put egg whites first.

The main thing is to shift each layer of the filling with a cracker. Salt is not necessary, most of the ingredients already have salt in their composition.

This dish is convenient because it can be prepared in advance, even the day before the festive meal. As it stands, it will become even tastier.

Only for a long time (more than 2-3 hours) you need to put the salad in the refrigerator so that it does not inadvertently turn sour.

This salad is served to the table without stirring, but like a cake. Eat like a cake, cutting off pieces of the right size.

How to make Cracker Salad Cake

1. Drain the oil from a jar of canned saury. Clean the fish from the bones, mash with a fork.

Finely chop the onion (I have red), add it to the fish.

2. Then add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise, mix well. Boil chicken eggs, peel, cut into cubes, leave 2 yolks for decoration.

3. Add 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise to the eggs, mix thoroughly. Grate the cheese on a medium grater, add chopped garlic, mayonnaise to it, mix everything.

4. Now you need to lay out the salad in layers in the form of a flower in the following sequence: crackers, cheese layer, crackers, egg layer, crackers, fish layer and finish again with a layer of crackers.

5. Lubricate the surface of the cake with mayonnaise. Grate the egg yolks and sprinkle over the cake.

Then they should be dried a little on paper towels and cut into small pieces. When the mushrooms are ready for frying, take the onion. we clean it from the onion peel, wash it and finely chop it on a cutting board.

Take a small frying pan and pour it in 1-2 dining rooms tablespoons of vegetable oil (olive for frying or sunflower) and put on a large fire. Now we unload the onion, together with the mushrooms, into a frying pan heated with vegetable oil and fry everything over medium heat until the champignons are fully cooked. In time, this process will take you no more 6-9 minutes.

While you are frying, constantly mix everything in the pan with a spatula to turn over so that the mushrooms and onions do not burn, but rather are well fried on both sides.

Step 2: crush the fish, onion mode and mix.

Next, open the canned fish, I had a sardine, put all its contents in a deep plate without liquid, you can drain the liquid directly from the canned food as soon as you open it, and then knead the canned food as thoroughly as possible with a fork. We wash a bunch of green onions, cut off the head with roots from it, wash it thoroughly under running water and dry it on paper towels.

Then finely chop it on a cutting board. You can chop with a sharp knife, or you can take kitchen scissors and finely chop the onion with them. We put a grater on a flat plate and rub our cheese.

This is done so that the cheese does not wake up on the table. Then the grated cheese should be mixed with the previously finely chopped garlic and spread with mayonnaise.

If you hate garlic, then, in principle, you can not add it.

Step 3: boil and rub the eggs.

We take 2-3 chicken eggs and a capacious enameled mug. We put the eggs in a mug, pour cold water into it, fall asleep 1-2 teaspoons salt and 1 teaspoon vinegar, if available. We put all this on a big fire and when the water in the mug boils, we make the fire moderate and boil the eggs minutes 10-12.

We added salt and vinegar so that in the process of boiling the eggs they would not crack. When the eggs are cooked - put them right in a mug under running cold water, wait 2-3 minutes so that they cool completely, peel them from the shell and rub them on a grater.

I advise you to leave a part and preferably a large one for decorating the cake.

Step 4: assemble the cake.

Take your favorite flat serving dish. At its bottom we lay the cracker as densely as possible. On top of the cracker layer, we make a grid of mayonnaise and sprinkle the mayonnaise with grated eggs.

The next layer will lay out the cracker again, put canned fish on top of it, sprinkle everything with green onions and mayonnaise, then lay out the cracker again, put the mushrooms and onions on top of the cracker, and again spread everything with mayonnaise. The next layer will again be a cracker, we again pour it with mayonnaise in the form of a grid, on which we pour cheese, pour everything over with mayonnaise again, then lay the cracker layer again, which we again pour over with a grid of mayonnaise and now sprinkle everything with grated yolk.

By the way, the top layer can be made not only from the yolk. You can simply sprinkle the top with grated yolk along with the protein.

Step 5: Serve the Cracker Cake.

When our cake is almost ready, you can, if you wish, break a few crackers as small as possible, which are then mixed with the remains of grated cheese, grease the sides of the cake thoroughly with mayonnaise and then sprinkle with this mixture. All the cake is ready, you can put it in the refrigerator for soaking on 2 hours least. Of course, ideally put the cake on soaking on 12 hours. then it will be soaked so well that the cracker will not be distinguishable.
