You can make a mixture of dried fruits yourself, choosing dried fruits to taste, or use a ready-made one, popularly called "compote". Its composition, as a rule, includes dried apples, pears, less often apricots and prunes. Dried cherries, raisins, chokeberry and other berries that can be dried well may be present. Compote from a mixture of dried fruits comes out fragrant and rich, one of the main advantages of the drink is that it is prepared at any time of the year.

Ingredients:

  • a mixture of various dried fruits - 400 gr.;
  • water, drinking - four liters;
  • sugar - 150 gr.

Dried fruit compote recipe step by step

In a mixture of dried fruits, you can often find fruits with mold and rot, before preparing compote, they need to be sorted out, throwing out everything spoiled and rubbish.

Pour the selected fruits into a saucepan and rinse well, soak in cold water for at least an hour. During this time, all the dirt that usually sticks to pieces of apples and pears, and is not removed during the initial washing, will come off on its own.

We wash the dried fruits again and, pouring them into a saucepan, pour cool water. Placed on the stove, turn on the maximum heating under it.

Bringing the contents of the pan to an intense boil, reduce the heat so that the broth is only a little worried. Boil the compote with the lid closed for forty minutes.

It's time to sweeten the drink. To do this, at the fortieth minute, pour sugar into the pan and stir well with a spoon. Bring to a boil again, boil over low heat for a minute and set aside from the stove.

Ready compote must be kept under a closed lid until it cools completely, so it will become more fragrant, and its taste will be richer. It is convenient to prepare a drink in the evening, and put it in the cold in the morning. The taste of chilled compote is significantly different from warm or cooled.

Option 2: A quick recipe for compote from a mixture of dried fruits in a thermos

It takes a minimum of time to prepare compote in a thermos. All you need to do is sort and wash the dried fruits. If there is rubbish left on the fruits, they need to be poured with hot water for a couple of minutes. Since the drink is not boiled, all vitamins are preserved in it. We can safely say about such a compote that it is tasty and healthy. The ratio of the mixture and sweetener can be changed, focusing on your taste preferences.

Ingredients:

  • one and a half tablespoons of fructose or sugar;
  • 200 gr. mixtures of dried fruits for compote.

How to quickly make dried fruit compote

Under the pressure of water, we wash the dried fruits in a colander. Put in a bowl, pour hot water for two minutes, then rinse again. We put the washed fruits in a thermos.

In a small cup of hot, freshly boiled water, dissolve sugar or fructose. Pour the mixture over dried fruits and top up with hot water to the desired volume. In this case, you need to pour at least one and a half liters, since this amount of dried fruit is designed for a two-liter thermos. After closing, set aside the thermos for 12 hours.

We strain the infused drink and pour it into a convenient dish, decanter or jar, cool. If desired, the compote can be cooled.

Option 3: Dried fruit compote in a slow cooker

A mixture of dried fruits must be compiled by yourself and not necessarily from those indicated in the recipe. They can be supplemented or replaced by others, you can also use the finished mixture - “compote”. The presence of prunes is desirable, because it is he who gives the drink a rich taste and unique aroma. It is important that the total weight of dried fruits is at least 400 grams.

Ingredients for 2.5 liters of water:

  • half a glass of dried apples and the same amount of dried cherries;
  • a handful of raisins and dried pears;
  • four tablespoons of sugar;
  • six pitted prunes.

How to cook

Wash the fruit base well. Put in a bowl, pour warm water for twenty minutes. This will not only allow you to get rid of the small litter that has stuck to the fruit, but also soften the excessively dried fruits.

After draining the water, put the dried fruits in a colander. After rinsing with running water, lightly dry and fall asleep in the cooking bowl.

We fill the bowl with drinking water, it is preferable to use cool. While it is warming up with the lid closed, the fruits will not only soften well, but will also betray all their aroma, flavor notes and color to the compote. When pouring boiling water, the compote will cook faster, but it will come out much poorer in taste, aroma and color.

After adding sugar, tightly cover the lid of the multicooker. Set the option "Extinguishing" and start the cycle for one hour. We prepare compote at a temperature of 100 degrees, not higher. To cook compote in a slow cooker, you can use the "Heating" mode, but then the time will need to be increased to 90 minutes.

After the end of the set cycle, leave the compote with the lid closed until it cools completely. The drink is delicious both warm and chilled. Sweeten the drink both at the beginning and at the end of preparation. In the latter case, it is easier to achieve the desired sweetness. Sugar is usually used as a sweetener, but it is acceptable to replace it with honey or fructose. Honey is added to the cooled drink.

Option 4: Dried fruit compote without sugar

Quenches thirst better than any carbonated drink! Having tasted compote without sugar, you will not want another. A mixture of dry apples, plums and pears is best suited for such a compote. When buying, choose a set that contains dried apricots, dates and figs. Such fruits are sweet in themselves and a drink prepared with them can do without sweetening.

Ingredients:

  • half a kilo of a mixture of dried fruits (dried fruits);
  • water - up to 6 liters;
  • to taste - honey.

Step by step recipe

Thoroughly washing, inspect the dried fruits for the presence of adhering litter. If there is one, soak the fruit for three minutes in boiling water. We shift them into a colander and put it under the pressure of running water. Fingering and carefully examining, we rinse completely.

Pour dried, well-washed fruits into a large saucepan and add cool water to them. Placed on a "fast" fire, bring to a boil. Periodically rising to the surface of the foam, carefully remove with a slotted spoon.

After waiting for an intense boil, lower the heat to medium and boil the compote for up to half an hour. After removing from the stove, wrap tightly with a terry towel and cool under it.

When the temperature of the drink drops to room temperature, strain the drink through a sieve or colander and dissolve honey in it. Do not put a lot at once, first dilute no more than one and a half tablespoons and only after taking the sample bring it to the desired sweetness.

Option 5: Dried fruit compote for a child under the age of one year

Properly prepared dried fruits retain much more vitamins than frozen fruits and berries or canned compotes for the winter. There is no need to add sugar to the compote, which is important for the child's body. In addition, drinking a dried fruit drink in winter is the best way to combat beriberi. You can start giving a drink to a baby from the age of six months. The only component that should be in this dried fruit compote is apples.

Ingredients:

  • dried apples - 20 gr.;
  • 200 ml of "children's" drinking water.

How to cook

We carefully sort out dried apples, they should not be beaten by insects and mold. We wash the sorted fruits and, pouring cool boiled water, leave for twenty minutes on the table.

After washing again, put the softened apples in a small saucepan. Add cool water to them and put on a quick fire.

According to the first signs of boiling, lower the heat to medium and continue to boil the apples for at least half an hour. In order to preserve the vitamins to the maximum, cook at a slight boil and always with the lid closed.

After removing from the stove, cover the saucepan with a drink with a terry towel, cool. We filter the compote through layers of gauze and pour into a clean jar.

For children's compote, dry apples are recommended to be purchased in original packaging, carefully peeled and without stalks. The drink is introduced into the child's diet in small portions, starting with a teaspoon. Re-introduction only after a couple of days, and then on condition that the body reacted positively: there were no rashes and discomfort from the digestive tract.

Option 6: Dried fruit compote for a child

When the child's digestive system gets used to the compote of dried apples, the composition can be supplemented with other dried fruits, such as dried apricots. Prunes should be added with care, as they can weaken the intestines. When choosing prunes and dried apricots, pay attention to appearance. Dried fruits should not have a glossy sheen. Naturally dried fruits are wrinkled, with a matte surface.

Ingredients:

  • dried apricots - 40 gr.;
  • 60 gr. dried apples;
  • liter of purified water for children.

Step by step recipe

After washing, soak dried apricots and apples in warm water for ten minutes. After draining the liquid, put the dried fruits in a colander and put it under the pressure of cool water. We wash, carefully examining each slice of apple and dried apricots.

Pour a liter of cool water into a suitable pan and immediately lower the prepared dried fruits into it. We turn on the burner to the maximum, put the pan on it and wait for it to boil. In the process, foam from fruit can rise to the surface of the compote, it must be carefully collected with a spoon or slotted spoon.

From the beginning of boiling, we adjust the heating so that the compote is only slightly agitated. Having covered the pan with a lid, boil the dried fruits for up to forty minutes. When ready, let the drink brew for an hour, filter it and pour it into a jar.

To preserve useful substances in compote, dried fruits can not be boiled, but steamed in a thermos. In this case, it will take at least half an hour to soak them, and pour them with almost boiling water. A drink is prepared in a thermos for twelve hours.

Option 7: Dried fruit ginger compote: apples, apricots, pears, lemons and oranges

It is customary to add ginger not only to first courses, side dishes and pastries. It goes well with any berries and fruits from which compotes are prepared. Ginger drink refreshes and quenches thirst well. Ginger root combined with citruses and spices gives dried fruit compote a spicy note.

  • orange and lemon - one fruit each;
  • ginger root - a two-centimeter slice;
  • two cinnamon sticks;
  • sugar;
  • ten peas of pepper;

Place orange, lemon and ginger slices in a large saucepan. Add spices, spices and pour two liters of cool water. Without bringing to a boil, boil over moderate heat for a quarter of an hour. We add soaked dried fruits, let it boil and sweeten, adding sugar, navigate after sampling to your taste. After boiling for a minute, remove the pan with compote from the stove and let it brew under the covers for six hours.

Option 8: Rich dried fruit compote with frozen berries in a slow cooker

The berry variety shown is for reference purposes only. Any will do - grapes, currants, cranberries, you can search on the shelves for more exotic ones. The duration and method of cooking will not change from this, unless, if you think that the berries are still too dense, next time cook for a quarter of an hour longer.

Ingredients:

  • frozen cranberries - 170 gr.;
  • a glass of sugar;
  • a mixture of dried fruits "compote" - 120 gr.

Step by step recipe

Compotes cannot be called a branded drink for multicookers, nevertheless, the modes established by the manufacturers allow you to prepare a delicious drink and spend a minimum of effort. Sort dried fruits, carefully remove the remnants of the stalks. Inspect and remove parts containing mold, place in a colander and rinse under running cold water. Strain off moisture.
