Puff pastry is a lifesaver for a modern housewife. I bring to your attention a simple recipe for making delicious puffs with chicken and cheese from ready-made puff pastry. A minimum of ingredients, no complications, and as a result we get fantastically fragrant and incredibly tasty puffs.

To prepare puffs with chicken and cheese, we need:
ready-made puff yeast dough - 500 g;
For filling:
chicken legs - 2 pcs. (or any other chicken parts);
medium-sized onion - 1 pc.;
cheese - 100-150 g;
salt, pepper - to taste;
vegetable oil for frying.

Besides:
Egg + 1 egg white (for brushing)
wheat flour for dusting the table;
parchment paper.

Defrost the finished puff pastry at room temperature. While the dough is defrosting, prepare the filling. Cheese grate on a coarse grater.
Wash the chicken legs (or any parts of the chicken), dry them. Separate the meat from the bones and cut into small cubes.

Next, heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and fry the chicken pieces over high heat on all sides until half cooked, for about 3-4 minutes. Salt, pepper to taste.
Peel the onion, cut into half rings.

In a separate pan, heat the vegetable oil and fry the onion, stirring occasionally, over medium heat until slightly golden.
Our stuffing is ready. Let's start molding. Dust a work surface with flour and lay out the defrosted puff pastry. Then divide it into equal parts (I used ready-made square plates of puff pastry).

Roll each part of the dough lightly in one direction. Put the fried onion on one edge of this part of the dough.
Then lay out the lightly fried chicken meat.

Then sprinkle generously with grated cheese.
Close the puff with the free edge of the dough, cutting it in several places with a knife (I decorated the free edge of the dough with a mesh cutting roller). Connect the edges of the dough (for reliability, you can walk along the perimeter with a fork) and grease with protein.

Cover a baking sheet with baking paper, lay out the finished product. Brush chicken and cheese puffs with beaten egg with a fork to get a golden crust. Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 30-40 minutes until a stable golden crust appears.

You can make a huge variety of pies, biscuits, etc. from it. I suggest puffs stuffed with fried chicken, cheese and sun-dried tomatoes - a variation on the theme, a la pizza. Required Ingredients:

2 chicken breasts;

100 - 150 g of cheese (any);

1 kg. puff yeast dough (2 packs);

1 cup (optional)

2 tbsp. tablespoons of flour (for working with dough).

How to make chicken and cheese puffs:

Rinse the chicken breasts, remove the skin and use a knife to cut the flesh from the bones.

Cut the chicken fillet into small pieces.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat. Place chicken pieces in hot oil and simmer until tender. Then season the chicken with salt to taste and season with black pepper. Cheese grate on a coarse grater.

For a change, you can add sun-dried tomatoes or slices of fresh tomatoes to the puffs. If you do not like tomatoes, you can not add them at all. There are many recipes where chefs advise adding a little fried onion, but again, this is optional.

So, the filling for puffs is ready, now take care of the puff pastry. The packaging of puff pastry, as a rule, includes 2 layers of dough, separate them. Prepare the rest of the puffs in this manner. Preheat the oven to 170 degrees and prepare a baking sheet. Lay parchment paper on a baking sheet.

Spread the collected puffs on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake in preheated oven for about 30 minutes until golden brown.

As a result, from two packages of dough, 8 large and appetizing puffs with chicken and cheese are obtained.

  • vegetable oil;
  • egg - 1 pc.;
  • spices - to taste.

Cooking

Consider another option, how to cook puffs with chicken. For the filling, wash the chicken fillet with water, dry it and cut into cubes. Then salt the meat, sprinkle with seasonings to taste and mix. Fry the prepared chicken until tender in a pan in oil, stirring occasionally. Peel the onion, then chop into small cubes. Mushrooms are washed with water, dried and cut into slices.

After that, fry the onion in a pan until soft, and then add the mushrooms, mix, cook until all the liquid has evaporated. At the end of frying, salt the mushrooms and sprinkle with ground pepper.
