Varieties of hot pepper. Useful properties of red hot pepper: how to use a "burning" pod for immunity, beauty and weight loss

What are the benefits and harms of hot peppers for the body if you start eating it? Surely, many already know about its properties, but do not assume what a storehouse of vitamins there is, and what is special about it. We will look at interesting things related to this leguminous plant.

Useful properties and contraindications of hot capsicum

Useful properties and contraindications of hot capsicum can be explained by the fact that it contains elements that have a dual effect on the human body. Firstly, it contains alkaloids, and they feed the body with the missing minerals. They can also aggravate the situation if a person is sick. It used to be said that those who consume red pepper will have a sound mind, and there will come a new smart thought. Accordingly, we can conclude that the plant did and continues to provide benefits. But what was it about, and what did our ancestors have in mind?

Red pepper, capsicum, chili - it has many names, and in warm countries like Mexico, it will always be welcomed because of its taste and piquancy. Residents claim that eating a slice of chili pizza brightens their mind, others say that it helps relieve stress and cleanse the body. Grandmothers treat children with pepper tinctures, add them to face and hair masks. Our inhabitants of temperate latitudes sometimes do not understand and do not know why do this with pepper, when its purpose is cooking and the minimum content for taste.

The benefit of hot peppers lies in their ability to digest heavy meals without taking digestive pills. By adding pepper to meat, it absorbs carbohydrates and fats, and the dish becomes useful for everyone who cannot eat anything high-calorie. Persons who have diseases of the gastrointestinal tract can experience all the "charms" of this product, experiencing pain and colic after eating it. With type 1 diabetes, it is better to exclude it so as not to return the glucose level to the usual norm for a simple healthy person.

Oh intestines! The place where the digestion of food takes place, and where the pepper absorbs bacteria and viruses.

  1. Pepper envelops the walls of the mucosa.
  2. It absorbs unnecessary bacteria.
  3. Takes away liquid and excess fats.
  4. Restores the balance of flora.
  5. Removes toxins and harmful substances.

The intestines then work like clockwork. No need to engage in excessive training and bend your legs to the navel, lead fasting days and eat only apples and lemons. We exaggerate, but really, it’s easier and easier for someone (not due to illness) to take drastic measures to treat the intestines, and someone just eats chili, remains in a good mood and with a working digestive organ.

Our blood is not an organ, but a part of the circulatory system. And the health of our body largely depends on its composition, since its rivers carry microelements and useful / unhealthy substances throughout. To purify the blood, it is enough to eat 10 g of red capsicum. Useful components are contained inside, and being quickly absorbed into the blood, they help to cleanse it and bring the very “relish” of the composition to the organs.

Also, without departing far from the blood and diuretic system, pepper is still useful for women. When the body is recovering from injuries, hormonal failure or childbirth, pepper can help. It not only enriches the blood, supplies microelements, but also normalizes the cycle. The emotional background can be corrected with the same composition:

  1. Chew a piece of pepper and drink it with milk.
  2. Drink water again.
  3. Once again, after eating, seize the side dish with pepper and drink it with juice or something sweet and sour.

Thus, a woman's mood will not only rise (not from an acute blow to the tongue), but the balance of hormones in the whole body will also normalize. The ovaries will be normal by the time it's time to re-eat the pepper.

It is worth remembering one “but”: during the period of menstruation, when the cycle began, red pepper should not be taken. On the contrary, it will upset the gastrointestinal tract and the pelvic area, not helping to renew the blood. Otherwise, cramps may appear in the lower abdomen, bleeding may increase.

Can you eat hot peppers every day?

In terms of health benefits, hot peppers can be eaten every day before and after meals. But on the other hand, if it causes problems in the gastrointestinal tract, you will not be able to eat it or other spicy foods. Therefore, in order for everything to be in moderation, you need to occasionally replenish the body's reserves with its vitamins, but do not overdo it with the number of pods in the bowl with dinner. Once every 1-2 weeks is enough for a constant and regular intake of pepper.

Allergy to hot pepper - how does it manifest itself?

When working with hot peppers, gloves should be worn to prevent redness of the hands and burns. If, nevertheless, it was not possible to protect yourself from such exposure, you can get an allergy. Also, an allergy to hot pepper manifests itself in the form of skin rashes when there is an individual intolerance to the product.

  1. There is indigestion in the stomach.
  2. The temperature and chills of the body rise.
  3. The general condition is satisfactory, but sleepy.

With such mild symptoms, a predisposition to excitability to the components of hot peppers can be diagnosed. It is recommended to exclude any combination of the product with the diet so as not to cause subsequent reactions.

Can hot peppers be frozen?

Many housewives will be interested to know if it is possible to freeze hot peppers for the winter in order to preserve its properties. We will help you learn how to do it right with the preparatory phase:

  1. First you need to clean the pepper from dirt and rinse it thoroughly.
  2. Then completely dip the pepper in cold water, dry with a towel.
  3. If you want to reduce the spiciness of the product, place the pepper in boiling water for 3 minutes.
  4. Next, we remove the core and seeds - the veins are cleaned, which reduces bitterness in the subsequent consumption of products.
  5. The thinner the pods are cut into strips, the better they will keep for several months.
  6. When working with the core, rubber gloves should be worn. This will help protect your hands from getting sharp.
  • It is necessary to determine the depth of freezing and the duration of storage. Chile is 90% water, and its preservation is determined by the correct temperature regime.
  • At 0-5 degrees pepper can be stored for 1-2 months. It can’t be longer, otherwise the integrity of the cells will be destroyed.
  • When stored at 0-2 degrees of heat, the pepper simply retains its properties, but in this position it will only be useful for 3 weeks.
  • With prolonged freezing at -18 degrees, it will retain its properties for 1-2 years.

For instant freezing, it is better to use a gentle temperature. You need to store it in a glass container, and for a container, place the chopped pepper in a container at a temperature of up to -6 degrees. You can also store pepper in oil - this way it will retain its properties longer, however, when defrosting, it cannot be re-frozen.

If hot pepper gets into the eyes, what should I do?

Many housewives will find it useful to know what to do if hot pepper gets into their eyes. This can happen during cooking, pre-cleaning, or freezing. No one is immune from such a case, and when it happens (do not croak). You will already know what to do in such emergency situations.

  1. Black brewed tea, or calendula, always helped from burning in the eyes. A weak solution of chamomile will also relieve burning sensation, and you can wash the eyeball with this composition. If pepper gets into both eyes, then the liquid after washing the first eye must be replaced.
  2. If the eyelid is affected, apply poultices - cotton pads are moistened in a tincture of black tea of a hot or cold type, and applied to the eyes for 5 minutes.
  3. Goat milk will help with pain after burning. Cotton pads are also applied to relieve redness and tingling in the eyes.

After washing, you need to drip your eyes with a medical solution that will prevent the development of infection. Get Albucid in advance - this is an anti-inflammatory agent that blocks inflammatory processes of a bactericidal nature.

Burning hands from hot pepper - what to do?

After working with the product, it often happens that the hands burn from hot pepper. What to do in such cases to prevent swelling? Vegetable oil and milk are home remedies. Not related to household chemicals. Therefore, such measures should be resorted to as a last resort. And first of all, take care of the following solutions:

  1. Chlorine and water. To disinfect and remove redness, chlorine is used, which removes bacteria, and neutralizes it with water. Burning on the hands should be washed with a non-concentrated solution. It will not get worse from him if his hands burn after pepper.
  2. Liquid soap and soda. This is sodium bicarbonate, which helps everywhere in home life, and it will also save your hands. Porridge is prepared with liquid soap, which neutralizes excess alkali. The mass is applied to the affected areas of the body, and then washed off with water.
  3. Alcohol helps dissolve capsaicin, a substance that causes itching, burning, and redness. Alcohol-based lotions, tonics and perfumes (eau de toilette) can help you with this issue.

Do not forget to rinse your hands under running water, disinfect them after handling. Then you should repeat the procedure if it was not completely possible to remove swelling and redness.

The benefits of hot pepper for men

We will separately consider the benefits of hot pepper for men and the male body in particular. The core of red capsicum contains elements and vitamins that men need to maintain potency and hormonal levels.

  1. Pepper also improves testosterone production, which has a positive effect on potency. It is worth noting that in such cases, we can only talk about the duration of sexual intercourse, while spermatozoa may lose their elasticity and speed. For conception, pepper will be contraindicated.
  2. Testosterone will increase and this is good for keeping fit. Athletes are advised to drink spicy milkshakes to increase endurance and help muscle mass grow.
  3. The liver in men will say "thank you" if you drink it occasionally with such products. Those who love beer and "feminine" alcoholic products (cause weight gain, progesterone - the female hormone), should use such goodies for piquancy and improve overall well-being.
  4. As for hair growth - the same testosterone is responsible for the growth of male hair. Therefore, to stimulate and prevent hair loss, men are advised to occasionally eat spicy food.

We recommend that you occasionally eat these foods, even if your goal is to increase your reaction speed and stamina. Excess pungency and burning trace elements can cause stomach ulcers, as well as excessively filter the blood. This will lead to increased hairiness and unnecessary hormonal imbalance.

Hot pepper for weight loss - how to eat?

It is worth noting another positive side of red hot pepper - it is a low-calorie product, which, in addition to enhancing metabolism, breaks down carbohydrates and fats. But how to eat hot peppers for weight loss in order to gain weight and not harm your health?

It is best to make a tincture of pepper, which will be moderately spicy. The vegetable is placed in vodka or alcohol, infused for 5 days. Important - finely chop the pepper so that it releases all the juices and saturates the tincture with its substances. If instead of medical alcohol (90%) you use vodka, then you need to insist it for 3-4 weeks. For weight loss, take 30 ml three times a day half an hour before meals. At the same time, you can not repeat the course every month - the exposure between sessions is six months, and the duration of one weight loss course lasts no more than 2 weeks.

For the best result, according to the specialists of the Cancer Institute, you should add seasoning to food, and not just drink tinctures.

Hot pepper for hair growth and against hair loss

In addition to cooking, hot peppers are used for cosmetic purposes, and products can be divided into professional cosmetics and home-made cosmetics. Everyone knows that pepper improves blood circulation, which helps to improve hair growth, the condition of hair follicles.

At home, you can also prepare tinctures and balms, mixtures and masks for direct use - for hair.

Capsicum for hair growthCapsicum for hair loss
Mixed with vitamin B12, egg yolk and honey. The mixture is applied to the hair along the entire length, kept for 20 minutes on the hair. This stimulates blood flow to the head. After 2-5 weeks, you can notice the growth of the fluff in the parietal region and on the crown. Ideal for postpartum hair restoration. To strengthen the roots and follicles, balms should be prepared, which include leguminous seeds. At home, they are soaked, wait a week and apply directly to the scalp. Do not hold for more than 5 minutes, and after a month you will notice that the hair practically does not fall out. This is a one time course.
Against brittle hair, tinctures are used that are prepared for weight loss. They can also be used to normalize the growth of the nail plate. For postpartum syndrome, when hair comes out, pepper balm is prepared with egg and vodka. This helps stop hair loss, but does not stimulate new hair growth.
Together with tangerine peels, hot pepper will be useful for thickening the hair. If we talk about shine, then pepper will not help here, but will only stimulate the growth of scales, which will create a feeling of visual thickening of the hair.Follicles will be stronger and thicker if pepper seed shampoo is applied to the scalp. They will help strengthen the bulbs. This will help prevent baldness.

Tip: If you cannot bear the burning of capsicum, it is better to seek help from specialists and purchase ready-made masks with this ingredient. The effect will appear in a few months, not as quickly as with homemade masks, but it is better and safer for some people.

These are the properties of hot red capsicum, which we have heard about, but did not fully represent its benefits for different parts of the body. To maintain immunity and a healthy lifestyle, it is also recommended to use vegetable components at least occasionally.

Today, chili pepper is recognized as a very popular seasoning. It is also called hot pepper, capsicum, red, bitter. Dried and ground chili peppers are called Cayenne, a Turkish vegetable. This product is not always red. Its sharpness depends on the stage of maturity, variety. But in any case, it is quite tasty and very healthy culture. It is actively used not only in cooking, but also in cosmetology and medicine. However, you need to remember: with such a culture, you need to be extremely careful. What are the benefits and harms of red hot pepper, the article will tell.

The main biologically active substance of chili is capsaicin. That's what gives it a spicy taste. In addition to capsaicin, the vegetable is rich in vitamins B, K, PP, C and A. It also contains beta-carotene. There are also minerals. For example, potassium and iron, phosphorus and magnesium, copper and manganese, zinc and selenium, calcium and sodium. Such a rich composition has a beneficial effect on all human systems and organs. In addition, the product is low in calories. There are only 40 kilocalories in 100 grams. Therefore, it can be safely included in the diet during the diet.

What is the origin of chile?

Before you understand the benefits and harms of red chili, you should consider the history of the appearance of the vegetable. Homeland is South America. Europeans first discovered such a product in the 15th century. Pepper was first tasted by Christopher Columbus. The food of the American Indians seemed to him quite piquant, interesting. It was he who introduced hot peppers to the inhabitants of European countries. Today, such a plant is actively grown in tropical countries. This culture is especially widespread in India and Thailand. It is shipped all over the world. Indeed, in view of the taste and healing properties, they are used everywhere. We advise you to read the article about.

What is useful hot pepper?

Many believe that hot pepper is not able to benefit the body, but only irritates the mucous membrane and can lead to very negative consequences. In fact, this opinion is erroneous.

Harm is possible only with the unreasonable use of such a product.

And so it has a lot of useful qualities. Considering the properties of chili pepper, it is worth highlighting its antitumor, analgesic, antibacterial, antidiabetic effect. The usefulness of this product has been proven by scientists. Consider how it affects the human body in more detail.

Here are the health benefits of chili peppers:

Considering how hot red pepper is useful, one cannot fail to note its active use in medicine. There are many folk methods that involve the use of this product externally. It is believed that it is excellent for rheumatism, sciatica and arthritis. It is widely used to treat bronchial asthma, as well as allergic manifestations.

In cosmetology, a spicy vegetable is also widely used. On the Internet, there are many different recipes for masks to improve hair condition for women, which include an ingredient such as pepper. When asked if chili peppers are useful in hair masks, experts answer unequivocally - yes. It promotes better hair growth, strengthens them well.
For baldness, it is recommended to rub pepper tincture into the skin. By stimulating blood circulation, the hairline is restored. There is also a pepper-based toothpaste. It is designed to improve the condition of the gums. This product is also effective in the fight against orange peel. Therefore, chili is often included in cellulite creams.

So there is no doubt whether red hot pepper is useful. The main thing is to consume it reasonably, in an acceptable amount. Eating 100 grams of this product, the body receives a daily dose of all trace elements, vitamins and minerals.

When can a chili pepper be harmful?

Of course, eating chili peppers has great benefits, but it must be remembered that not everyone can eat it.

Consider what is the harm of hot pepper.

Contraindications are those people who have:

Children are also not recommended to give such a spicy seasoning.

Excessive consumption of a spicy product threatens with heartburn, the development of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. One pod a day will be enough to get the benefits and not provoke the development of diseases. It can be said that chili pepper, the harm and benefits of which have been considered, is a fairly popular product. But in order to avoid disastrous consequences, it is important to know to whom it is contraindicated.

Thus, the well-known red hot pepper has many names. Someone calls it pod, and someone calls it chili. Its pungency is due to the presence of capsaicin in the composition.
The more of this substance, the pepper will be more burning. It should be noted that a bitter vegetable is not only a good seasoning, but also a very useful product, which, in addition to cooking, is used in cosmetology and medicine.

July 22nd, 2014

The name "chili" is used commercially and culinarily to refer to the cayenne pepper Capsicum annuum, and is also applied to all of the more pungent varieties of red hot peppers to distinguish them from medium to slightly pungent ones. The name “chili” in Russian is consonant with the name of the country Chile, but in fact it comes from the word “chilli” from the Astec languages of Nahuatl (the territory of modern Mexico) and is translated as “red”.

Pepper spiciness is measured on the Scoville scale. This scale was proposed by the American chemist Wilbur Scoville for a comparative assessment of the degree of hotness of different varieties of pepper. The Scoville Units (SUS) provide an estimate of the quantitative content of capsaicin and are based on organoleptic testing of pepper extracts. It is capsaicin that gives pepper a burning taste, it is associated with the perception of substances that stimulate "thermal" receptors. Capsaicin is widely used in medicine, but not only. For example, it is a component of an alcohol tincture and a medical patch used as a distraction and pain reliever, as well as an ointment for frostbite. Capsaicinoids are used in self-defense gas weapons: in gas pistols and revolvers, gas cartridges.

To make it clearer, sweet bell pepper corresponds to 0 on this scale, tabasco sauce - 5000 units, jalapeno - 8000 units, hot Thai pepper - 50-100 thousand. By the way, while in Thailand, I tried dishes that Thais cook for themselves and, to be honest, I couldn’t eat more than two tablespoons. Jamaican hot pepper is gaining 100-200 thousand units. The peppers I'm going to talk about in today's post start at 225,000 (!) on the Scoville Hotness Scale.

So let's get started. I must say right away that the most interesting and extreme are at the end of the list.

22nd place. Madame Jeanette (225,000 units)

This variety of pepper comes from Suriname. According to one version, it got its name from the name of a prostitute from Paramaribo. The harmless-looking smooth yellow pod contains a powerful charge of sharpness. It doesn't have any fruity or floral notes, it's just tangy. Madame Jeanette can be found in traditional Surinamese and Antillean cuisines. This variety is often confused with "Yellow Suriname" - Surinamese chili peppers are yellow in color, but mature Madame Jeanette peppers are reddish-yellow in color, they are larger and irregular in shape. The plant is very productive, grows little and does not like coolness, can grow indoors.

21. Scotch bonnet (100,000 - 350,000 units)

Scotch bonnet is found mainly in the Caribbean, Guyana (where it is called "fireball"), the Maldives and West Africa. It got its name in honor of the resemblance to the traditional Scottish tam-o-shenter headdress. This is a wide wool beret with a pompom on top. These peppers are used to flavor various dishes, as well as in hot sauces and condiments. It gives pork or chicken dishes a unique taste. Scotch bonnet has a sweeter taste and thicker shape than its habanero cousin, with which it is often confused.

20. White habanero (100,000 - 350,000 units)

This habanero variety is rare because it is quite difficult to grow. The white habanero fruit grows on tiny bushes but is extremely productive. Opinions about the origin of the variety differ (Peru or Mexico), but it is most often found in Mexican cuisine.

I suggest you watch a video review of a white habanero with a tasting. As it turned out, this is a fairly popular genre of video reviews on YouTube. The Internet is filled with videos of men blushing and sweating, munching different varieties of peppers.

19. Kclassic habanero (100,000 - 350,000 units)

Despite its official name, Capsicum chinense, the classic habanero comes from South America. Nikolaus Jaquin, who discovered this plant, mistakenly believed that it spread from China. This species naturally grows in Brazil, Colombia, Mexico and the Caribbean. Residents of Mexico are immensely fond of spicy food, and tourists are offered to taste dishes with habanero peppers in the restaurant. The visitor who ordered this hot pepper is immediately respected by the locals. Habanero pepper is part of the famous Tabasco sauce.

18. Fatali (125,000 - 325,000 units)

The Fatali pepper, or South African habanero, is the first pepper on our list that is not native to the Western Hemisphere. South Africa is considered its homeland. This variety has a pleasant fruity taste. Depending on the place of growth, you can catch the aroma of citrus or peach, although I personally do not understand how you can distinguish any shades of taste when tasting such a sharp product.

17. Tongue of the devil (125,000 - 325,000 units)

This variety is similar in appearance to Fatali and is also a member of the Habanero family. This pepper was first discovered on a farm in Pennsylvania, but the history of its origin is unknown. The fruits of this pepper have a bright, fruity, slightly nutty taste (let's take our word for it).

16. Tigerpaw NR (265,000 - 328,000 units)

This habanero variety was bred at the USDA Science Lab. The prefix NR in the name of the pepper stands for "nematode resistance", which means the resistance of this variety to root nematodes (pests that usually attack pepper bushes). Due to the artificial origin of Tigerpraw NR, the tradition of using it for food has not developed. However, its resemblance to the classic orange habanero allows it to be used as a substitute for any kind of cooking, although the Tigerpraw NT is slightly spicier.

15. Chocolate habanero (aka Congo Black) (300,000 - 425,000 units)

This variety is originally from Trinidad and, in fact, has absolutely nothing to do with the Congo. Chocolate habaneros have gained particular popularity with spicy lovers, who can stay awake long enough to savor the rich "smoky" flavor buried deep beneath the spicy spiciness. This variety can be found in traditional hot sauces from Mexico to Jamaica.

Review-tasting chocolate habanero:

14. Red Savina (200,000 - 450,000 units)

Another variety of habanero, specially bred by breeders in order to get larger and juicier fruits. Like some other habanero varieties, Red Savina comes from Central America, but it got its new look in California greenhouses. So that you understand what awaits you further on this list, let me explain: this variety held the palm among the hottest varieties of pepper for 12 years (from 1994 to 2006), and we still haven’t reached the middle!

13. Red Caribbean Habanero (300,000 - 475,000 units)

This variety is almost twice as hot as the classic habanero. Like some of the other varieties on this list, the red habanero is native to the Amazon basin, although some believe it has Mexican roots. The red Caribbean habanero is widely used in Mexican cuisine, mainly in salsa and other hot sauces.

12. Trinidad Scorpion CARDI (800,000 - 1,000,000 units)

The Trinidad Scorpion cultivar group gets its name from its characteristic scorpion tail shape. Place of origin - the island of Trinidad. The abbreviation CARDI explains that this variety was bred within the walls of the Caribbean Agricultural Research Institute. Growing and processing this pepper requires wearing gas masks and protective clothing similar to chemical protective suits. In its homeland, the Trinidad Scorpion is used in the military industry to produce tear gas. Also, capsaicin obtained from it is added to the paint, which is used to cover the bottoms of ships to protect against molluscs.

11. Naga Morich (aka Dorset Naga) (1,000,000 units)

From this point on, we are moving into a completely different category of varieties with a level of spiciness over a million Scoville units! It's hard to imagine, but "gastromasochists" from all over the world chew these peppers too. Central American habaneros will have to make room: the Naga pepper family is native to northern India and Bangladesh. There they are usually eaten unripe. In addition to the spicy spiciness, "naga morich" boasts a fruity aroma, with some fans catching notes of orange and pineapple. One variety of this Dorset Naga pepper has been specially torn down for maximum spiciness. It was the first variety in the world to cross the 1 million Scoville mark.

10. Bhut Jolokia (aka Ghost Pepper) (800,000 - 1,001,304 units)

In 2011, Bhut Jolokia (or Naga Jolokia) entered the Guinness Book of Records as the hottest pepper in the world. Now there are already more spicy varieties of chili, bred in laboratories, but it is worth remembering that Bhut Jolokia is a natural creation of nature, growing for centuries in India. It is noteworthy that the sharpness of this pepper directly depends on the geographical location and climate of the area where it grows. So, the sharpest Bhut Jolokia grows in the relatively sparsely populated northeastern part of India, also known as the "Seven Sister States", where they are plastered with fences to keep wild elephants away from human dwellings. In the drier state of Madhya Pradesh (the center of the country), it is half as sharp as in the northeast. The Ministry of Defense of India, after conducting tests, announced that grenades stuffed with Bhut Jolokia effectively cooled the ardor of hooligans. After that, pepper grenades came into the possession of the Indian army.

9. Bhut Jolokia chocolate (800,000 - 1,001,304 units)

The chocolate variant of Bhut Jolokia is very rare in nature. It got its name not only for its characteristic color, but also for its sweetish aftertaste. But don't be fooled: it's no less pungent than its red counterpart, with about the same level of capsaicin at 1 million units. Native to India, these peppers are used in all varieties of curries.

8. 7 Pot Chili (over 1,000,000 units)

This chili variety also comes from Trinidad, where the fiercest peppers grow naturally as weeds. This pepper is found in dishes throughout the Caribbean. In Jamaica, it is called the "seven-pot" pepper, to show that one pod is enough to fill seven pots of food with flavor and aroma. Like other spiciest varieties, 7 pot chili fruits have an uneven, bumpy surface, as if boiling from the inside due to their spiciness.

7. Gibralta (Spanish Naga) (1,086,844 units)

Based on the name, this variety of naga is grown in Spain, although it was bred in laboratories in the UK. To obtain such sharpness, gibralta is cultivated under extreme conditions: indoors, in closed polyethylene tunnels, using extremely high temperatures. Since it is an artificially bred variety, it is difficult to find it in traditional Spanish cuisine.

6. Infinity chili (1,176,182 units)

Most of the top ten chili cultivars were produced artificially, and Infinity chili is no exception. It was bred by British breeder Nick Woods, but only lasted two weeks as the hottest pepper. Like the two previous varieties, it's just as red and bumpy and bad-looking, just like those amateur tasters after they've tasted it.

5. Naga Viper (1,382,118 units)

Nature couldn't invent a pepper as hot as the Naga Viper. It is so unnatural that this variety loses its properties with each new bush. Naga Viper is an unstable genetic hybrid of three other chili varieties: Naga morich, Bhut jolokia and Trinidad scorpion. If you want to buy seeds and try growing Naga Viper yourself, get in line with Gerald Fowler, the breeder from the UK who developed this variety. At the moment, there are already several thousand people on the list.

4. 7 Pot Douglah (aka Chocolate 7 Pot) (923,000 - 1,853,396 units)

Trinidad's chocolate 7 pot chili is approaching the dangerous 2 million Scoville mark. Fans say that this variety is one of the juiciest and most aromatic varieties of chili. The word "dougla" in Trinidad refers to people of mixed African and Indian blood.

3. Trinidad Scorpion Butch T (1,463,700 units)

The Trinidad Butch T scorpion was listed in the Guinness Book of Records in 2011. It was obtained by crossing other varieties and named after Butch Taylor from the USA, who grew them from the seeds of another fellow pepper lover. To prepare food using this pepper, you need protective equipment: a mask, gloves, a protective suit. Chefs claim that numbness in the hands lasts for about two more days after cooking.

2. Trinidad Moruga Scorpion(2,009,231 units)

This variety for the first time crossed the threshold of 2 million units on the Scoville scale and for several years held the title of the hottest pepper in the world. It is the hottest pepper found in the wild and comes from the Moruga region of Trinidad (of course). A medium-sized fruit contains about 25 ml of pure capsaicin, about the same amount as a police pepper spray. If you decide to bite off a piece of Trinidad Moruga Scorpion pepper, then in the first minutes you will think that it is not spicy at all. However, after a few minutes, the degree of stinging will begin to skyrocket, and you will feel as if your tongue, throat and esophagus are on fire! Blood pressure will rise, the face will turn red, and the eyes will begin to water heavily. Some who tried this pepper had bouts of nausea. In addition to spiciness, Trinidad Scorpion Moruga Blend is notable for its fruity aroma, thanks to which its fruits, added to food in very small quantities, give the dish a piquant and, at the same time, pleasant taste.

1. Carolina Reaper (1,569,300 - 2,200,000 units)

The leader of the ranking is the Carolina Reaper, grown in South Carolina on the farm of Ed Curry, owner of PuckerButt Pepper Co. The Carolina Reaper, declared the hottest pepper in November 2013, beat the nearest competitor by 200,000 units. Like its other closest relatives from Trinidad, it is equipped with a bumpy surface and a scorpion tail.

In this funny video, two reckless comrades are tasting Carolina Reaper:

Let me remind you something else interesting about food and food: but for example. Here they are eaten. I can even tell you. Well, look how it looks The original article is on the website InfoGlaz.rf Link to the article from which this copy is made -

A pod of red pepper serves as an indispensable addition to some dishes. Now, without it, it is difficult to imagine even borscht, a favorite of Ukrainian cuisine. But it was not always so. Until 1492, red pepper was not even heard of in Europe. It grew up in South America and was brought to Europe by the Spaniards and the Portuguese. For a long time, the plant was treated with caution and grown as an ornamental crop. And yet, the benefits and harms of red pepper interested people, and it began to be used in cooking, folk medicine, cosmetology, and eventually in official medicine.

Red pepper is called hot, hot, bitter, chili. All these names characterize the same subshrub Capsicum, which is characterized by the presence of "fiery" pods. Despite the love of the plant for a tropical climate, it easily adapts to less warm conditions. World suppliers of hot pepper are Hungary, Greece, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, Spain, California. Helps or not: reviews

I have been using the red pepper tincture for 10 days now (every day I rub the tincture with a cotton swab on wet clean hair + at night). The roots have grown by 1.5 cm, they fall out less! I am satisfied with the result! If you can’t get a tincture in a pharmacy in your city, then you can make it yourself! Take 5-6 small red hot peppers, chop finely and mix with 0.5 liters of vodka! Insist 20 days in a dark place and that's it! You can use!

I have been suffering from vitiligo for a long time, which I just did not try, there was no effect. In the summer it was generally a nightmare, the spots increased from the sun, became bright, especially on the face. Last summer I learned one recipe that red pepper infusion helps with vitiligo. The bottom line is this: during the day (sunny!!!) rub the tincture into the spots, you need to do this for 10-15 minutes, the spots will turn red, they will burn. After that, in the sun for 20 minutes (well, of course not at lunchtime) and let the spots sunbathe. This procedure needs to be done. once a day. I didn’t have the opportunity to rub the tincture several times a day (I did it once a day, and even then not always ...), but nevertheless the result was, the contours of the spots really began to darken, the spots decreased in size, but did not completely go away ... .I think this is due to the fact that I rarely greased them. This summer, I'll take a closer look at this procedure.

Two births affected my figure not in the best way, add to this not quite a young age, and the reason for the appearance of hated cellulite becomes clear. I bring my body in order on all fronts - here and proper nutrition, and massage, and sports, and various cosmetic procedures. I love the wrapping process. It takes very little time, and the effect with regular use is amazing. I tried different wraps - cold, hot; purchased, homemade ... After 10 procedures, my hips have decreased by 3 cm, cellulite has almost disappeared, but my course is not over yet. The skin on the buttocks and thighs is very smooth and moisturized. Personally, I'm satisfied. I don’t have time and money to go to salons, and pepper wrap is easy to do at home and it won’t hurt your wallet.

Peppers are definitely useful. I use it for the beginning of a cold, sit under the tsibuly and lard and under the covers. By the way, the last time I attached my wife, because. both froze. The symptoms of a cold disappeared, were briefly replaced by hangovers, but never returned. I usually 100% prevent colds with peppercorns. My opinion is useful, bonus and fun. And don't drink too much.

The content of the article:

Hot red pepper - spice, burning aromatic seasoning. It is the fruit of a tropical shrub of a particular cultivar Capsicum frutescens or C. annuum. The pods are dried and then ground into powder. There are other names for this product - hot pepper or chili (chilli pepper - red pepper), which everyone has heard. In cooking and in trade, the name "cayenne" is used, which distinguishes it from less pungent varieties.

In the photo, a subshrub of hot chili peppers

A hot pepper from the tropics of America. The shrub itself is low, about half a meter, has many oval leaves, large light flowers with purple spots. In the fruiting period, round or elongated multi-colored berries of yellow, red, dark olive colors appear on its branched stems. Now it is grown almost everywhere, but it occupies a special place in Thailand and India. Apply hot pepper in cooking, medicine, cosmetology.

The use of hot pepper

There are two main types of peppers: cayenne and vegetable. The first type has small light orange fruits, unlike the second, and in the ground form is much lighter than its counterpart. The stronger aroma and more pungent taste of red peppers is due to capsaicin (a phenolic compound found in the veins, seeds, and skins), which is not present in sweet bell peppers. When they want to reduce the "blazing heat" in food, the veins and seeds are simply removed.

Cooking is unthinkable without pepper: any of the species is suitable not only as a seasoning. For example, red chili is used fresh, cooked (stewing, frying) and dried. Pepper pods are used in vegetable dishes, in canning, and dried pepper is ground and added to kefirs, salads, soups, added to meat, marinades. Fruits of small size are fried, if the skin is thick, then it is first removed. In fact, it is difficult to imagine a dish that does not require the addition of pepper, especially in Asian countries. It is very popular with us, the recipe came to us from Abkhazia.

To keep the pods of the spicy seasoning for the long winter, it is strung on a thread and hung in a dry place. This is also done in Mexico with large chili peppers, because their national cuisine loves to cook hot sauces. Before cooking, dried pods are cleaned of veins and seeds, and in order not to become bitter, they are fried for several minutes in a hot frying pan, then soaked in hot water and ground into a puree-like paste.

Roasted and frozen peppers of any variety will not lose their taste and useful qualities. Want to freeze fresh? Not a problem: dip in boiling water for a couple of minutes, remove, cool, wrap in a bag and place in the freezer.

Medicine also uses red hot pepper. Its "burning substances" are valued. Just such a variety of shrub capsicum is used to create tinctures. Such a burning liquid, if taken orally, improves digestion, stimulates appetite, and kills pathogens. And who has not treated pain in the muscles with sticky pepper? In general, in medicine, no less than in cooking, hot pepper is popular: for shock, fainting, collaptoid conditions, heart attacks, internal bleeding, lack of blood circulation, etc.

For example, in Asian countries - India, Thailand, Vietnam, hot pepper is the king of spices and at the same time an antibacterial agent. In the tropics, because of the heat, microbes multiply very quickly, so all dishes are spicy. To reduce the risk of poisoning or contracting an infectious disease, hot peppers are heavily consumed even by pregnant women, without any risk of giving birth before term. In the northern countries, chili is forbidden to be eaten by women during lactation and in anticipation of a newborn, fearing that a large rush of blood to the organs will cause contractions. But in the southern countries, even children are born already with a “hardened character”.

Useful properties of red hot pepper

The sharpness of red pepper is the most valuable quality of this vegetable. Without raising the temperature, it heats the place where soaked pepper powder is applied (in the common people mustard plaster). As under the influence of high temperature, blood vessels expand, the supply of nutrients and oxygen to tissues and organs improves, pain relief (where there is spasm) and healing (where there is inflammation) occurs.

For severe headaches, hot pepper tincture can be rubbed into the nose. After 1–3 days, severe headaches disappear. This was confirmed by American scientists, conducting this test on students. See the video below for more details.

Peppered spicy food does not spoil longer, and besides, once in the stomach, it kills pathogenic microbes.

The cosmetic industry widely uses hot pepper in anti-cellulite creams, balms and oils for thickening hair. Very popular among fashionistas to lose weight -,

Hot pepper is filled with B vitamins, microelements (potassium, iron, magnesium), essential and fatty oils. Ripe red peppers are still rich in vitamins A and C, unlike unripe ones. When consumed with food, all this usefulness enters our body and has a beneficial effect on health.

Harm of hot chili pepper

Useful pungency for some people may be harmful for others. So, contraindications - hot pepper can worsen the health of patients with angina pectoris, hypertension, arrhythmia, it will damage its intake by unhealthy kidneys and liver. People with gastritis and ulcers, with diseases of the intestinal tract, can get burned, bleed and end up in a hospital bed. Therefore, it is dangerous to immediately add this spice to food in large quantities.

It is also not superfluous to talk about some cautions in interacting with hot peppers. For example, there are varieties that can easily cause skin irritation just by touching them. If you are preparing a dish with pepper, then be careful - do not touch your eyes. Wash your hands and utensils thoroughly. It is useless to drink hot peppers eaten by negligence with water, it is better to “cool the heat” with milk or yogurt, although the sharpness can be easily killed with sour - lemon, for example.

For pregnant women, it is not harmful, as we wrote above - in Asian countries, pregnant women actively eat chili.
