And depending on what else you put in the salad, besides cheese, it can be a great snack for beer, dry wine or strong alcohol, or it can be spread (preferably in a thick layer!) On a morning sandwich and eaten with a cup of coffee. In any case, it will be an original salad, tasty and easy to prepare.

In this article, we offer you some simple options for cheese salad.

Required for any option:

  • Cheese - 200-300 grams ( note: in different salad options - different types of cheese!)
  • Mayonnaise - about 300 grams (maybe more, it depends on the amount of cheese and other ingredients; in general, cheese salad is very "mayono-intensive", if they allow us to invent this new word here, and the salad should not be dry, it should be smeared with relative lightness). Mayonnaise is better to take low-fat, light (up to 30% fat), because the cheese itself has a rather high fat content

Needed in different combinations for different salads:

  • Garlic - 2-5 large cloves (quantity of your choice)
  • Canned pineapple rings - 1 jar with a volume of 580 ml, usually in such a jar at least 300 grams of pineapple (you can also use canned pineapple in pieces)
  • Dill - 1 bunch (40-50 grams)
  • Parsley - 1 bunch (40-50 grams)
  • Chicken eggs - 2-4 pieces (quantity to your taste)
  • Canned corn - 1 can (net weight 340 grams)
  • Ham (can be pressed) or Doctor's sausage - 100-200 grams
  • Fresh cucumber - 1-2 small cucumbers (in some cases, you can try to replace it with salted or pickled cucumber)
  • Sour cream

Cooking:

For any of the salad options with the ingredients that we are going to use, we do the following:

We rub the cheese on a large grater.

Garlic cloves are peeled and passed through a special garlic crusher, or three on a very fine grater, or very finely cut with a sharp knife.

We remove the pineapple rings from the syrup and cut them into small sectors about 1-1.5 cm in size along the outer part of the circle. If the pineapple was canned in pieces, just take the pieces out of the syrup and let the syrup drain.

Dill and parsley, like any salad greens, need to be washed, then spread out on a towel and allowed to dry (we don’t need water in the salad!), Then finely chop with a sharp knife. If there were “stick” stems, they need to be cut off and discarded, they are too rough and hard for a salad.

Hard boil eggs, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater.

Open a jar of corn and drain the liquid from it, you can even squeeze the corn a little by pressing it with a lid.

Ham or sausage can either be grated on a coarse grater or cut into small (with an edge of 5-7 mm) cubes.

Cucumbers cut into small cubes or slices.

When preparing a salad, we put the necessary ingredients, with which we have already done the above operations, in one bowl, mix, add mayonnaise, mix again. We put the finished one in a salad bowl or, in a sandwich version, put it with a teaspoon on pieces of rolls or bread (possibly spread with butter) with a layer no thinner than the roll itself or bread.

Now we finally got to the cheese salad options themselves. And note: within each option, all sorts of variations are still possible, so you get a whole palette of flavors.

Option 1 - sharp, known as "Fujiyama". For this salad, hard cheese is needed, it can be with a more piquant and spicy taste, it can also be softer. Can be mixed in approximately equal proportions with smoked "sausage" cheese. You can try to make only from smoked cheese. Be sure to add garlic to the cheese (it is clear that the more garlic, the spicier the salad, but do not overdo it!) And mayonnaise. You can add eggs. You can add dill.

Option 2 - more satisfying. We do everything the same as in option 1, and from the same cheeses, perhaps we reduce the amount of garlic or completely exclude garlic. Add ham or sausage, eggs. If you want - dill. Maybe fresh cucumber. If garlic is excluded, you can add corn. We season with mayonnaise.


Option 3
- gentle. For this option, among hard cheeses, you need to choose a cheese with a neutral soft creamy taste. We add only pieces of pineapple and mayonnaise to the cheese. Strange as it may sound in combination with pineapple, you can, if you want, add a little bit of garlic, literally one clove or even half, to this salad for piquancy. You can (but not with garlic) add corn.

Option 4 - soft cheeses with herbs. As the name implies, for this salad we take soft whey cheeses such as "Adyghe" or "Mozzarella". Add finely chopped dill and parsley. You can experiment with other herbs: add some basil or cilantro, we even tried adding mint. This salad is best seasoned with mayonnaise mixed with sour cream or even just sour cream. You can also add garlic - it will be good. You can add fresh cucumber. It can even be salted or pickled - but not all at the same time - and in this case it is better to season with mayonnaise. You can try to replace the cheese with cheese - then it is better to season with sour cream, and pickled or pickled cucumbers are excluded.

As you can see, cheese salads open up unprecedented scope for your culinary creativity, and you can come up with your own original cheese salad.

Salad with cheese, ham, eggs and cucumbers

Ingredients:
300 g ham
100 g hard cheese,
2 eggs,
1 cucumber
2-3 tablespoons of mayonnaise,
salt to taste
parsley.

Cooking:
Boil hard-boiled eggs, cool, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Cut the ham and cucumber into small strips, mix with eggs and grated cheese on a coarse grater. Salt the salad to taste and season with mayonnaise. Serve garnished with parsley.

Salad with chicken, apples, cheese and walnuts

Ingredients:
3 chicken breasts
4 sweet and sour apples,
200 g cheese
1 cup walnuts,
100 g plain yogurt
50 g mayonnaise,
2-3 tablespoons of honey
1/2 bunch dill or parsley
salt and spices to taste.

Cooking:
Boil or bake chicken breasts. Cool when ready, cut into small strips or cut into fibers. In a large bowl, mix chicken meat, peeled and diced apples, chopped walnuts, chopped herbs and cheese - it can be grated or cut into small cubes (as you like). To prepare the dressing, mix yogurt, mayonnaise and honey until smooth. Add salt and spices if necessary. Toss salad with dressing and serve.

Salad with corn, pickled cucumbers and cheese

Ingredients:
300 g canned corn,
150 g cream cheese,
4-5 pickled cucumbers,
3 eggs,
mayonnaise,
dill greens.

Cooking:
Boil hard boiled eggs, cool and cut into cubes. Put eggs, grated cheese, canned corn, diced cucumbers and chopped dill in a bowl. Mix salad with mayonnaise and serve.

Vegetable salad with curd cheese

Ingredients:
1 medium tomato,
1 medium cucumber
1 small bell pepper,
250 g curd cheese,
2 tablespoons of mayonnaise,
1 tablespoon low fat sour cream
salt and spices to taste.

Cooking:
Soften curd cheese at room temperature and stir it with mayonnaise and sour cream. In a small bowl mix all ingredients and serve immediately.

Warm salad with baked beets and blue cheese

Ingredients:
6 pieces of medium-sized beets,
2 bunches of greens (dill, parsley, cilantro, spinach, arugula),
100 g frozen blue cheese (for example, Dor Blue),
2 tablespoons vegetable or olive oil

toasted almonds.

For refueling:
3 cups freshly squeezed orange juice
1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
3/4 cup vegetable or olive oil
a pinch of salt and black ground pepper.

Cooking:
Preheat oven to 180 degrees. Place the beets on a foil-lined baking sheet or in a baking dish. Brush with oil, sprinkle with salt and pepper. Roast for about 1 hour, or until cooked through, until the beets are tender (check with a knife for doneness).
While the beetroot is baking, prepare the dressing. To do this, pour orange juice into a saucepan and reduce it to about 3/4 cup. Add the lemon juice, remove the pan from the stove and strain the juice through a sieve. Pour the juice back into the saucepan, add salt and pepper. Cook over medium heat until the mixture has a syrupy consistency. You should have about 1/4 cup dressing. Allow dressing to cool to room temperature and stir with olive oil. The dressing can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 10 days.
When the beets are ready, they need to cool a little, peel and cut into circles. Put the beets on a dish and pour over the dressing. In a large bowl, mix the chopped greens with the remaining dressing and arrange on top of the beets. Remove the cheese from the freezer and grate it on a fine grater over the salad. Sprinkle salad with toasted almonds and serve.

Layered salad with mushrooms, tomatoes and cheese

Ingredients:
400 g champignons,
4 eggs,
2 medium onions,
2 tomatoes
150 g hard cheese,
150 g mayonnaise,
salt and ground black pepper to taste
vegetable oil,
parsley or dill.

Cooking:
Fry the chopped onion in vegetable oil for two minutes. Cut off two slices of the mushroom, fry on both sides and set aside for the final dressing of the salad. Cut the rest of the mushrooms and fry until tender, salt and pepper to taste. Boil the eggs, peel and separate the whites from the yolks. Put a layer of cheese in a salad bowl, lightly smearing it with mayonnaise. Then lay out a layer of mushrooms, some mayonnaise, chopped egg whites, mayonnaise again, tomato slices, a layer of cheese, mayonnaise and grated egg yolk. Decorate the salad with slices of fried mushrooms and herbs. This salad can also be made into portions by arranging it on plates using a special ring.
