In the modern kitchen, there are many devices that can turn an ordinary everyday dish into a culinary masterpiece. Classic cereals become a royal breakfast, and all thanks to the help of a multicooker. This device not only makes the taste of dishes special, but also preserves the beneficial substances of each product. The cooking process itself has become simple, fast and very interesting, especially for children.

How to choose and prepare cereals?

For the human body, spring wheat is considered the most useful. It contains a complete list of useful vitamins and minerals. Unfortunately, this product is not always available in stores, especially with the onset of autumn. During this period, the ripened crop is just beginning to be harvested, and the wheat of the last harvest has already lost its useful qualities.

When choosing wheat groats, you should pay attention to the date of production and packaging of the product. In rare cases, producers may put up for sale wheat from the old crop. But, as mentioned earlier, it will lack useful substances.

The shelf life of the packaged product should not exceed 13-14 months. For wheat, the optimal storage time should not exceed 8 months. An important aspect when choosing wheat is the flowability of cereals. It should not stick together in the hands and turn into lumps.

To date, popular types of wheat porridge are Artek and Poltavskaya. The polished product is marked with numbers from 1 to 4, in accordance with the grinding size. The larger the grains of wheat, the lower the marking number. In addition to cereals, there are instant wheat flakes on store shelves.

It is absolutely not necessary to know the characteristics of wheat thoroughly, it is important to remember that the maximum of useful substances is located in crushed cereals. And wheat flakes are a useless product.

Having chosen cereals, it is necessary to do its preliminary preparation. For example, "Poltava" wheat must be washed under running water before cooking. Small crushed in this case can be ignored. But many housewives wash any kind of wheat, arguing that this factor has a positive effect on the quality of porridge.

Proportions and cooking time

Each manufacturer of household appliances develops and programs distinctive characteristics for a particular appliance. The same goes for multicookers. Almost every multicooker has a “Porridge” cooking mode, only in the program of each model the cooking time differs, depending on the heating power of the multicooker system. On average, the "Porridge" mode is set for 15 minutes, if necessary, you can reduce the time or, conversely, increase it.

In the matter of proportions, you should use the measuring cup of the multicooker. The ratio of wheat groats and milk is 1: 2 for the classic cooking method. To get a jelly-like consistency, you should apply the formula 1: 6. For crumbly porridge, the ideal ratio of proportions is 1: 3.

Recipes

Not every person knows that in Rus' wheat porridge was one of the important treats at any event. It was with this dish that the festival began. All the guests wanted to eat wheat porridge, and those who did not get it did not despair. The next morning after the feast, they boiled a fresh bowl of wheat and recalled the previous evening with pleasure.

  • The washed wheat is placed in the container of the multicooker. Next, milk, granulated sugar, a pinch of salt and half the cooked amount of butter are added.
  • The lid closes, the “Porridge” program is selected on the control panel. The automatically set timer should be changed to 60 minutes.
  • After the multicooker has notified that the dish is ready, do not immediately open the lid. You have to let the dish rest. And it would be even better to connect the “Heating” mode with a timer for 20 minutes. During this time, the porridge will reach its final readiness, and it can be served by adding the remaining half of the butter.

Unfortunately, not every adult likes to eat wheat porridge with milk in the classic version of the recipe, so the housewives figured out how to add variety and give the dish a more piquant taste with honey and nuts.

You need to take:

  • wheat - 1 glass;
  • milk - 2 cups;
  • water - 2 cups;
  • salt - 1 pinch;
  • butter - 1 tsp;
  • honey - at the discretion of taste;
  • Any nuts are up to taste.

  • wheat needs to be rinsed with running water, then placed in a prepared bowl and immediately salted;
  • wheat grains are poured with milk and water in the same amount and thoroughly mixed;
  • on the multicooker panel, you need to select the “Porridge” program, the timer is set for half an hour;
  • while the cereal is being cooked, it is necessary to deal with the nuts: peel and chop them;
  • after the end of the multicooker, a handful of nuts and honey are added to the porridge.

The most picky eaters are children. Each child has their own list of what they like to eat and what they refuse. And as always, unloved dishes are the most beneficial for the child's body. Therefore, many mothers go to the trick and turn ordinary wheat milk porridge into a special dish.

Required Ingredients:

  • wheat - 1 glass;
  • milk - 1.5 cups;
  • salt - 1 tsp;
  • granulated sugar - 1 tsp;
  • crushed crackers (preferably homemade) - 3 tbsp. l.;
  • butter - 50 g;
  • vegetable oil - 30 ml;
  • candied fruits - 30 g;
  • raisins - 30 g.

Preparing a special wheat porridge with milk in a slow cooker as follows.

  • Wheat is washed in running water and poured into a multicooker container.
  • Next, milk, salt, granulated sugar and butter are added. After adding these products, you need to turn on the multicooker and set the “Groats” mode, set the timer for half an hour. It is worth noting that the consistency with the presented amount of products turns out to be thick, so it is necessary to stir the cooked mass often so that it does not stick to the walls and bottom.
  • After the end of the multicooker program, you need to wait a little time until the cooked mixture cools down.
  • Next, the beaters are made. A small lump of cooked porridge is taken, raisins and candied fruits are laid out in the middle, the surface is crumbled in breadcrumbs. The shape of each meatball should be slightly flattened.
  • The multicooker bowl is washed after cooking porridge and lubricated with vegetable oil. After that, prepared meatballs are laid out in it. The "Frying" program is selected, the time is set to 10 minutes.

The multicooker lid must not be opened.

After the end of the time, it is required to turn the fried "cutlets" on the reverse side and start the ten-minute frying process again.

Such an unusual porridge cooked in milk is served hot on the table. You can use meatballs with sour cream. The main thing is that all the important trace elements of wheat are transferred to the baby in full.

The peculiarity of the multicooker lies in the process of cooking. According to the principle of operation, it does not boil porridge, but simmers it. Everything happens due to steam, which affects the products from all sides. It is this fact that insures the owners of the multicooker from burning.

The main thing in the cooking process is to use the advice of famous chefs.

  • When purchasing wheat in a store, preference should be given to cereals in sealed packaging, preferably in cellophane. A strong wrapper protects the cereal from the adverse effects of the environment. An ordinary cardboard box is not able to secure the product, due to which the wheat can become bitter.
  • In addition, when choosing, you should pay attention to the color of the product. High-quality groats have a light brown tint. A darker color indicates low quality wheat. When studying the color of the product, it is necessary to check the presence of small litter in the form of pebbles and cake in the package. A good cereal will not contain such garbage.
  • On the shelves of shops, common types of wheat are quite common - "Artek" and "Poltava". Small grains of "Artek" are ideal for children's porridge. It is easily integrated into the child's diet, freely perceived by the child's body and enriches it with useful substances. "Poltavskaya" is sold in the form of whole grains of medium and large sizes. The average size is suitable for adult cereals, and large grains can be used to prepare a dressing for soup.

  • The quality of the cooked porridge is fully influenced by the multicooker itself and the program embedded in it. In some cases, you can deviate from the existing recipe and do some improvisation by adding, for example, not three glasses of milk, but two and a half.
