Salt dough crafts. DIY autumn crafts from salt dough for kindergarten

Autumn is a very good time for creativity. When the weather does not allow you to spend time outside, you can spend it on creating interesting crafts - for example, making truly autumn crafts from salt dough.

- this is a very convenient basis for creativity. For children, classes with this material are much easier than working with modeling mass, plasticine and other similar materials. Even the smallest children can make flat autumn souvenirs from salt dough with their own hands.

If you have already managed to stock up on bright bizarre autumn leaves, you can make crafts from dough with their help. Additionally, you will need a rolling pin and wax crayons.

Roll out a small ball of dough into a layer. You can roll out a large lump at once and then cut it into separate plates.

We put an autumn leaf on the plate and press it very well.

We remove the sheet - a clear imprint should remain in its place.

Let's dry our plate. After it becomes solid, paint the print with wax crayon.

Get a nice print.

You can make autumn leaves from dough without using real leaves.

To do this, we knead the salt dough and divide it into several lumps.

We color each lump in a bright autumn shade using natural or food dyes. You can use finger paints for this purpose, which are easily washed off the palms of babies.

Now we combine all the lumps into a single whole and mix the resulting mass well.

Roll it out with a rolling pin into an even layer.

Now, using leaf-shaped molds, we cut out figures from the dough. If you do not have such molds available, you can make them yourself from tin cans, be sure to bend the edges of the homemade molds inward.

On each leaf of dough we make a round hole - we will then thread the lace into it.

We dry our crafts. They can be used to create autumn compositions, such as a decorative tree, or to decorate rooms. You can even decorate a photo frame or a wall newspaper with such leaves.

It is quite possible to make such ones from salt dough in kindergarten - as part of a thematic creative lesson.

And the children will be happy to decorate the group or the hall with the fruits of their labor.

Master class progress:
Works made from salt dough are called testoplasty, which is currently a common type of needlework. In ancient times, it must be, since people learned how to make flour, they began to make figures from dough. This work is widespread in all countries of the world. And how much joy the testoplasty classes bring to little fidgets! The dough is a pleasant and pliable material with which children work with great pleasure. Testoplasty is one of the types of folk arts and crafts. Why did I decide to do testoplasty with preschool children?! Scientists have proven that the development of hands is closely related to the development of speech and thinking of the child. Working with dough is a kind of exercise that helps in the development of fine differentiated movements, coordination, and tactile sensations, which are necessary when working with young children.
The bright colors of the leaves sparkle -
The wind blows - they fly around ...
Like butterflies, the leaves flutter,
Spinning in the sky, flying, flying
They lie on the ground like a motley carpet
They rustle under our feet
Everyone is talking about autumn soon!

Everything crawls on a leaf
And gnaws at its edges.
And when he grows up a little
Wrap the body in a cocoon.
And in a moment,
To the surprise of all people
Getting out of captivity,
She flutters like a butterfly.
1. We prepare the necessary material.

Making dough: : 1 cup salt, 2 cups flour, 0.5 cup water. For elasticity, add 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil to the dough, you can also add cosmetic cream, 2 tablespoons of wallpaper glue. I added some PVA glue. Mix salt, flour and PVA glue, gradually add cold water, mix thoroughly, determine the readiness of the dough by whether it sticks to your hands or not. As soon as the dough stops sticking to your hands, it is ready.

2. Roll out the dough, divide it into pieces, apply a template of leaves and cut it out in a stack. We need three sheets.

3. Next, put your palm on the next piece of salt dough and press it slightly. It turns out a leaflet in the form of a child's handprint.

4. Then we make a caterpillar from the remaining pieces of dough: 6 circles of different sizes in descending order and the 7th circle in the form of a leaf. We attach eyes, draw a mouth with a stack, lines on the leaves. On the circles we make decoration with a ballpoint pen.
5. Let's start coloring our leaves using any gouache colors, as your imagination allows.

6. Glue the parts to the colored cardboard.
These are the autumn leaves and the caterpillar. Undoubtedly, such a souvenir will surely decorate any interior.

And at the end of this article I will give another pack of links to our articles on the topic AUTUMN and crafts FROM NATURAL MATERIAL.

The idea of autumn crafts No. 1

Salt dough mosaic.

Pieces of the puzzle - like a designer. From them, you can lay out any objects. Including autumn pictures.

Do-it-yourself salt dough mosaic recipe.

1 cup salt (finely ground). 1 cup flour. We mix and add water (we pour on dumplings in the center of the slide, gradually mixing). We achieve a thick, tight consistency (as for rolling on dumplings).

We divide the dough into portions. Add food coloring to each lump (we dilute the powdered coloring in a teaspoon with water and mix into the dough). We get several multi-colored lumps of dough.

We wrap each colored lump tightly (without air) in a plastic bag or in cling film. I put it in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

We take it out of the refrigerator and roll each cake into a layer 1-2 cm thick (more can be). We cut into cubes, rhombuses, rectangles, triangles. And dry (you can in the oven, you can in the sun, or just under the bed).

And we get a mosaic that is easily glued to PVA glue, or to hot glue from a gun.

After completion of the work, the entire mosaic picture can (and even should) be sprayed with ordinary HAIR SPRAY. And the colors will become bright, juiciness of color and a slight shine will appear.

The gaps between the mosaic can be filled with mortar- for example, dilute gypsum with water and smear it with a mosaic, so that liquid gypsum is poured into all the cracks between the details. And immediately, while the gypsum is dry, wipe the entire surface of the mosaic with a damp cloth, clean the places where the gypsum got on the drawing itself.

For this purpose, gypsum plaster from the store or a mortar for grouting joints when laying bathroom tiles is suitable.

The background for the mosaic can be a canvas (or a piece of plywood) filled with a background of oil paint. Place a salt dough mosaic on top of the oil painting, in the form of a maple leaf (attach to a hot glue gun). Dilute the gypsum mortar to the consistency of sour cream, add food coloring (yellow or red) to it - so that the color of the solution matches the shades of our mosaic. And gently with a thick brush we apply the solution to the mosaic, immediately wiping the surface, clearing the gypsum at the top of the picture. In one hand is a brush, in the other hand is a rag for grouting plaster.

After the plaster joints have dried, we cover the picture with HAIR SPRAY - so that the color becomes bright again and the same shine appears on the mosaic as on the oily background of our autumn picture.

Other material

for autumn crafts using mosaic technique

Autumn mosaic of ceramic chipped tiles.

You can use marbled ceramic tiles. Chop it with special tongs (you need to pinch off pieces of the tile under a towel so that the fragments do not fly around the room or hurt your eyes). That is, it is necessary that the tile itself be inside the bowl, which you covered with a towel, put your hands under the cloth and there quietly, blindly, by touch, bite off the fragments with wire cutters). Before this, you can hit the tile a couple of times with a hammer (also under a towel), and then bite off the fragments with wire cutters.

Autumn mosaic made of eggshells.

We cook eggs in food coloring - like for Easter. We clean the colored shells and lay out a picture with an autumn landscape.

Autumn mosaic from a broken glass vase, under malachite.

It is very good if you use a broken VASE, with beautiful iridescent sides - where the green color turns into yellow, blue, red (there are such vases). And if you break it and pinch it into pieces with tongs, you can fold such a maple leaf (as in the photo below).

Autumn mosaic from plastic kitchen boards.

Now on sale a lot of cutting kitchen boards made of plastic are sold. You can buy red board, yellow board, green board. And either file the pieces with a jigsaw (first long strips), and then bite these strips into fragments of different shapes with wire cutters. And you will get a lot of good material for mosaic crafts in the autumn theme. Everything is simple and cheap with your own hands.

Autumn craft-mosaic from bottle glass.

Here in the photo below is the idea of \u200b\u200bcrafts in the form of autumn leaves from cement mortar and bottle glass. We break the bottle with a hammer - and under the towel (so that the fragments do not scatter) we bite off pieces of glass with wire cutters. We take a sheet of tin, bend it in a semicircle (we fix this fold with a wire winding). We apply a thick cement mortar - a uniform layer. We cut the borders of the cement cake so that it resembles a leaf in shape. And while the cement has not seized, we press pieces of glass into it with the side that is convex and does not contain sharp corners. We wipe the surface of the glasses with a cloth, cleaning it from the trapped cement mortar. We are waiting for drying.

You can use flat glass (rather than bottle glass) to simply cut it with a glass cutter into even strips, which are then pricked into rhombuses with tongs. From rhombuses of the same size, you can lay out such a pattern as in the photo below.

These are the ideas from the package of autumn crafts No. 1.

Now let's move on to the second set of ideas.

The idea of autumn crafts No. 2

Autumn crafts from felt.

Colored felt has already won a place in the hearts of not only adult needlewomen, but also young children. Now crafts from felt are made not only by mothers on maternity leave. Quite often, the “Skillful Hands” school mug teaches children the basics of sewing on felt toys.

The simplest autumn felt craft is the cut out contours of the leaves, and imposed on a garland or curtain.

You can buy a set of colored felt by ordering it via the Internet (cheaper from China, on the Aliexpress website - photo below). Or buy separate sheets in craft stores - but this is already more expensive ... I recently asked the price in the store - one sheet of 30 by 30 cm costs like three packs of ice cream. It's cheaper in China.

The simplest felt crafts are to cut out the outlines of a leaf and sew such a leaf to the background canvas wrapped in a hoop with simple stitches.

Or you can build such a floral boutonniere from the leaves (photo below) - you can fasten the layers of autumn leaves from felt with THREADS or GLUE from a glue gun. If you attach a pin on the back, we will get an elegant brooch for your autumn coat or hat.

And here's another one - in the photo below - the idea of \u200b\u200ba beautiful autumn crafts made of felt - a whole felt picture made by yourself. Leaves, a tree branch and a cute fox are cut from felt fabric. We take a frame from the picture - we glue its bottom with a cloth (or a background from wallpaper). We sew or glue a tree branch and a rope on which felt flags with the letters "Autumn" will hang. Then we sew a fox (or an owl, as an option) - we cut leaves from the remnants of the fabric from the fox, we cut different leaves from another felt, also of autumn colors. With a glue gun, we fasten everything in a chaotic manner to the lower frame of the picture. We attach a sleeping fox with glue or thread.

Chanterelle made of felt can be completely different. Here are a few patterns to choose from.

You can cut a donut ring out of felt (or other fabric). Fill it with padding polyester - so that the bagel-wreath becomes plump. And decorate it with felt leaves. Let's hang a mushroom, or an owlet, or a squirrel.

The base ring for the wreath can be cut out of ordinary corrugated cardboard - from an old TV box or a large family pizza. And with a glue gun, or threads, sew felt leaves onto this cardboard round bagel. You will also get a beautiful bright craft - an autumn wreath.

And here is a masterpiece wreath made of felt with your own hands. Owls - just a miracle - all embroidered with sequins.

The base for a wreath can be bought at the store - foam rings for wreath crafts are sold. Then it needs to be wrapped with threads (as in the photo below). Tie a twig to a wreath, plant a bird on it (such birds made of feathers are sold in stores with decor for home decoration). And twist autumn roses from felt.

Here is a simple master class on creating a felt rose with your own hands. Cut out a spiral in the form of a snail. And we begin to twist the rose, fixing the twist with threads in the place where we hold the rosebud with our fingers.

And if the felt spiral is with uneven edges - in the form of petals, then we will get a rose with round petals. By changing the shape of the edge of the spiral, we will get new forms of flowers from felt. For example, if the edges of the spiral are cut into fringes (ribs), then we will get an aster flower.

You will find more ideas about flower crafts in my article. Many paper flower techniques are suitable for do-it-yourself flower crafts from felt (felt is the same paper, only a little thicker and softer).

Craft Idea #3

Autumn wreaths.

Such autumn crafts as wreaths made of natural material look very nice. Especially if this material is painted in autumn colors - yellow, red, orange, ocher. Ordinary cones bloom with all the colors of autumn - and it seems that the wreath is made of autumn flowers. A very simple craft.

Cut out a ring from the cardboard. We paint the cones collected in the forest with gouache, sprinkle with hairspray so that the paint shines and fixes on the cones (does not get our hands dirty). Now we take a glue gun and attach our cones to a cardboard base ring for a wreath. We get a non-standard autumn craft, which is not ashamed to even carry to the competition.

You can twist an autumn wreath of willow twigs. Cut wicker will need to be soaked in water to retain its flexibility. How to twist them into a wreath, I already told in a separate article. On such a willow ring, you can fix physalis flowers-boxes, clusters of bright mountain ash, and beautiful red leaves (aspen has very dense red shiny leaves). So that over time our wreath does not fade, you can dip all the elements - both the leaves and fruits of physalis and mountain ash - into melted paraffin from a candle. The waxy texture will seal all the juices of the plant and keep their color and juiciness for several years.

Panicles of herbs, velvety white sage leaves, and rose hips look very beautiful in autumn crafts-wreaths.

You can make an autumn composition not in the form of a wreath, but as a bouquet of leaves and herbs. Here in the photo below we see an example of such an autumn craft.

  • We stuff birch chocks on a wide board.
  • On the reverse side of the chocks on the nails bent with the letter G, we fasten a piece of iron mesh-netting.
  • And on this grid we already fasten bunches of leaves and herbs with pieces of thin wire, or with threads.
  • On the same metal mesh we attach a wide tape of dense fabric - burlap or tarpaulin.

We tie a bow and hang such an autumn craft on the door or facade of the house. Looks very elegant and beautiful.

Autumn paper wreaths

with your own hands.

You can implement the same wreath ideas from ordinary colored paper. Gather children in a pile - give them scissors and let them cut out the outlines of autumn leaves you have drawn along the contour. When a large pile of paper foliage grows on the table, you can start collecting a wreath. Yet again from packing cardboard we cut out the base ring for the wreath and on droplets of glue we attach our leaves in an elegant colored chaotic order.

You can cut out the leaves from cardboard and put a pressed pattern on them. This is already more difficult - you need to use a smooth thin object - using pressure - to apply veins to cardboard leaves. A non-writing ballpoint pen is suitable as a tool.

You can choose interesting color schemes for the fall craft - it doesn't have to be a yellow-red-orange foliage cloud. You can choose silver, burgundy, purple, bronze shades - in colder colors (as in the photo below).

And you can also decorate a paper wreath with roses twisted from a paper snail spiral - according to the same principle that we made roses from felt in the photo above in the same article. And also you can make roses using any other paper techniques. This site has a separate article just about all the techniques for creating roses with your own hands -

Idea Pack #4

Autumn paper crafts

In the technique of QUILLING.

Here in the photo below we see the autumn wreath again. It is made from twisted paper modules. Each element of this flower is a twisted paper strip. Round paper rolls are given any shape - oval, teardrop-shaped, triangular - and whole bouquets of autumn flowers are folded from these different shapes.

Here is a beautiful quilling lace craft - an autumn oak leaf with acorns also made of paper twist.

As a beginner, you can make a small autumn quilling card.

Making a large quilling maple leaf with your own hands is painstaking work.

You will need to first draw (or print) the maple leaf vein pattern. Then lay out long paper strips along each vein. Each strip goes along the selected vein - it reaches the edge of the vein (a pin is stuck in this place) - the strip goes around the pin, bends over it and sticks to itself - a double strip is obtained. And so it is repeated with each vein of the future leaf. And then each compartment is filled with figured twist modules.

As the compartments are filled with paper rolls, the pins can be removed. And stick it out in the place where we want to press the twist smeared with glue so that it presses its glue side against the wall of the vein.

You can collect a whole autumn bouquet of handmade quilling autumn leaves.

Idea Pack #5

Paintings on the leaves.

(Master Class).

And here is an idea that I like because it has a huge number of ideas for implementation. Here we see an amazing work - an owl painted on an ordinary autumn leaf. The painstaking work of the artist - and as a result, a beautiful autumn craft.

Even if you are not a very big artist, you can still make such interesting works - paintings on leaves are even for a child. Watching what to draw. All children can draw eyes and a nose. It remains to show him how to make brush strokes - so that they look like feathers.

You can turn one single autumn leaf with your own hands into an amazing autumn craft.

Here are some simple leaf coloring ideas for beginners. An oak leaf can become a peacock feather. Simple drawing. Nothing complicated - just first you need to think about how you will combine the colors - you can use blue, turquoise, green and yellow - or choose a different scale for the peacock feather - the shades are pink purple and purple.

You don't have to be able to draw to turn a maple leaf into a painting. Butterflies are a simple symmetry of the wing. You can simply knead a bright spiral of rich colors.

Or, of course, you can dare and swipe at a picture with a character (since the fashion for owls is now, you can draw them in different views and angles. You don’t have to draw an owl like in a photograph - you can have cartoon owls. The main thing is to scatter feathers in different directions - make such strokes with a brush in a circle from the head, and strokes in a circle from each eye - you get a disheveled owlet.All other parts of the owl that are difficult for you to draw plumage, you can hide in a hollow and wrap in a scarf. Cunningly and simply. It is available to everyone to make such a craft with their own hands. And you will feel how interesting it is. And how nice to show this work to friends. Feel like an artist of a new magical reality.

Where to get ideas. We are full of ideas all around us. They are on social networks in communities of owl lovers, or gouache painting communities ... Or you can find a picture in your child's children's book. It will serve as ideas for painting the autumn leaf.

For example, you found such an owl.

We take a maple leaf. And a blank sheet of paper. Trace the maple leaf on paper with a pencil. We cut out the circled silhouette - a hole in the form of a maple leaf remains on the sheet. We attach this template with a hole to our picture with paper clips. And we get a ready-made template - for a future craft-picture on an autumn leaf.

Now it remains to take gouache, and step by step, with your own hands, transfer this picture to a maple leaf. When everything is dry, spray the craft with HAIR SPRAY (so that the colors become brighter and the sheet plays with richness of color).

And then, in order to preserve the picture for a long time, we dip the sheet into melted paraffin or wax from a candle. Quickly dip and quickly take out by the tail and hang on a thread to dry. We get a craft-picture that does not wither or fade over the years.

Idea Pack #6

crafts-paintings

from leaves, herbs and flowers.

From herbs and flowers, you can lay out beautiful crafts. The main thing is to prepare a picture in advance - on a sheet of paper, draw with a pencil (weak lines) the outline of the future landscape. Then, with light watercolor, draw the sky, the glare of water reflecting this sky. Then put in the right place bridges, cut from long wide leaves. And begin to painstakingly lay out the wooded hills - twig by twig. And then, at the very end, lay out the foreground of the picture - tall grasses and flowers to the left and right of the bridge line. Beautiful painting craft. But it takes a lot of material.

A wooded hill is a whole heap of dried grass stalks in the form of twigs. In order for the density of the forest to be juicy, you must first sketch the background of these hills with green watercolor, then you do not need to lay the green stems so densely.

You can make a picture of flowers and leaves where there will be no watercolor - the whole picture and the background of the sky and the background of the earth are made from vegetable raw materials - as in the photo below. Simple autumn crafts with your own hands.

You can choose colored cardboard as a canvas for the picture - for example, blue as in the photo below. Then the blue cardboard itself will be a ready-made background for the sky and highlights on the water (as in the photo below).

When planning a leaf landscape painting, take care of the plans. Divide the picture into a third plan (horizon, distant meadows in the sky) - a second plan (a hill, a group of birches) - a foreground (a line of tall grasses and flowers).

A landscape picture of leaves looks very interesting if there is a PERSPECTIVE on it - an element that gradually decreases - goes into the distance. So on the craft below we see beds with flowering pumpkins or zucchini. The lines of the beds in the distance are a little thinner, and the flowers are a little smaller - than the same lines and flowers in the front of the picture.

Leaf paintings do not have to depict a landscape. Just a landscape drawing is the easiest.

You can fold a whole still life from natural material and scissors. The main thing is to first draw a sketch with a pencil. And then fill this sketch template as a mosaic with natural material. Cut the leaves and stems into the shapes we need with scissors.

Beautifully look paintings made by hand from natural material depicting insects. Parts of herbs often resemble the legs or wings of an insect in their structure. Therefore, it is easy to find elements in nature that are similar in shape to parts of beetles, dragonflies, etc.

Also from dry leaves and herbs you can create pictures depicting people or their things. Delicate canvases with ladies or girls in hats and dresses with delicate lace of flower petals. You can twist the silhouette of a lacy white umbrella from a paper napkin and fill it with a scattering of press-dried flowers. Or you can lay out the girl's dress and hat from the petals of dried flowers.

You can arm yourself with scissors and cut out clothes for a dancing couple - a dress and a tailcoat.

I also really like the work of the Ukrainian master of floristry Tatiana Berdnik - she posts her work on the site Floristika. org. ua. This is her painting "Mom and Daughter" we see below. Delicate fairy-tale pictures from a distant happy life - where everything is always good, where warm smiles and clear eyes, gentle hands and tender hearts. I strongly advise you to go to this site - you will fall in love with these works and want to learn this magical art.

And everyone quietly sat down.

II.Actualization of attention.

Educator:Hello dear children and distinguished guests!

We are very glad to welcome you within the walls of our school. Today you are present at the class of modeling from salt dough, and we will be happy to show and teach you what we can do. To begin with, let's get to know each other and introduce ourselves to each other /introduction of guests and children/

Educator:And now, I would like to ask: “Do you know what testoplasty is?”

Testoplasty is a modeling of salt dough.

In recent years, salt dough has become a very popular modeling material. Although dough crafts are an ancient tradition, they still have a place in the modern world, because now everything that is environmentally friendly and made by oneself is especially valued.

Salt dough has an ancient history. Since ancient times, people have baked not only bread, but also decorative items from dough. Initially, products from it had a cult significance: figurines of deities, images of animals, amulets were made from it.

The Slavs believed that animal figures molded from dough would bring wealth and abundance to the house, they were molded in the hope of increasing the number of livestock. From the dough they made dolls for children, who also played the role of amulets.

In Germany and Scandinavia, it has long been customary to make Easter and Christmas souvenirs from salt dough. Various medallions, wreaths, rings and horseshoes were hung in the opening of windows or attached to doors. It was believed that these decorations bring good luck and prosperity to the owners of the house.

Figures from dough are molded in Poland and the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Greece and Spain, even in distant Ecuador, craftsmen make crafts from brightly colored dough. As we see with you, the geography of the use of salt dough is wide and varied. Today, dough crafts are purely decorative, but this makes them no less popular.

Educator:Today, the guys and I will teach you how to work with salt dough and we really hope that you will enjoy this lesson.

It is no coincidence that at the beginning of our meeting a wonderful song about autumn sounded. Because autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. No matter what shades you see in nature. Going to the forest, autumn takes the brightest colors for its work. He covers birches and maples with lemon yellowness, aspen leaves resemble ripe apples, and puts mighty oaks in copper bronze.

Autumn festival in the forest

Autumn is a great time for needlework, because it gives us so many beautiful materials: leaves, vegetables, fruits, flowers, acorns, cones and twigs. And how cozy the house becomes if it is decorated with decor in yellow and crimson tones. In this article you will find 6 DIY autumn craft ideas for adults and children with step-by-step master classes and a selection of photos for inspiration.

Idea 1. Autumn topiary

Topiary is an ornamental tree that can be used to decorate a dining table, mantel or front door space. To make it, you can use natural or artificial materials, for example: leaves, berries on twigs, acorns, cones, chestnuts, flowers, dried citrus slices, as well as felt, sisal, linen and everything that your imagination tells you. In the next slider you can see some examples of such fall crafts.

Materials:

  1. clay pot;
  2. Wooden stick or branch;
  3. Two balls of styrofoam or floral foam;
  4. Materials for decorating the crown;
  5. Dry moss (you can replace it with sisal);
  6. Glue gun and a few sticks of glue;
  7. Scissors;
  8. Side cutters or secateurs;
  9. Acrylic paints for painting the barrel, bowl and pot (optional).

Instruction:

Step 1. Cut a hole in the base ball with a sharp object about a third of its diameter deep. Drop hot glue into the hole and insert the barrel into it.

Step 2. Insert the second ball into the pot. If the ball is not tight enough in the pot, lay newspaper around it. Cut a hole in the ball for the trunk 2-3 cm deep. Insert the trunk with the crown into the hole and adjust its length. Next, drop glue into the hole of the ball, place the barrel in it and start filling the hole with glue, placing small pieces of paper around the barrel. This is necessary so that the hot glue does not deepen the hole too much.

Step 3. Paint the pot in the desired color if you do not like its original appearance. In this project, the pot was painted with spray paint in a shade of dark bronze from Rustoleum (sold in building stores, for example, in Leroy Merlin).

Remember that the design of the pot should be simple and unpretentious so as not to distract attention from the crown. If necessary, paint the barrel and/or balls at this stage. It is desirable to paint the balls so that the gaps between the decorative details are invisible.

Step 4. While the paint on our blank dries, sort the decorative details by type and size. If you use artificial leaves, flowers and berries with a wire base, then when cutting them off, leave “stems” about 2 cm long. This is necessary in order not only to glue the parts, but also to stick them into the ball - then they will hold more securely . If the "stems" do not have wire, then it is better to cut the parts "under the root".

Step 5. Now it's time for the fun part - creating the crown. First, evenly distribute and glue the largest parts onto the ball, then the medium ones. Lastly, fill in the gaps with small decorations.

Step 6. Well, that's all, it remains only to decorate the ball in a pot with dry moss or sisal, having previously treated it with glue.

Idea 2. Pumpkins from toilet paper rolls

And here is another idea for an autumn vegetable-themed craft that you can make with children - pumpkins from toilet paper rolls. The possibilities for decorating these crafts are endless. For example, children can use colored paper, gouache or glitter, while adults can use gold leaf, fabric or lace.

Materials:

  • Bushings from toilet paper or paper towels;
  • Scissors;
  • Leg-split;
  • For decor: brushes, gouache or acrylic paints, PVA glue and sequins or book pages, etc .;
  • Cinnamon sticks or sprigs (to create the core of the vegetable);
  • Burlap, felt or cardboard (to create leaves).

Step 1. Flatten the toilet paper roll and cut into rings.

Step 2. Decorate the rings with whatever material you like, such as kraft paper, scrapbooking paper, fabric, ribbons, or simply paint them with acrylic paint. You can also decorate the pumpkins exactly as in this master class - with sequins and stripes of book pages.

Method 1. Using a brush, grease the outer sides of all the rings with PVA glue, and then generously sprinkle glitter on them. Wait for the blanks to dry, and then cover the sparkles with a second layer of PVA glue to protect them from shedding.

Method 2. Cut out thin strips of paper from book pages and glue them to the rings with PVA glue or glue stick.

Step 3. To form your pumpkin, pass the twine through the rings, then tighten the two ends and tie a knot as shown in the photo.

Step 4. Now glue cinnamon sticks or cut branches into the center of the pumpkin.

Step 5. Hooray, your pumpkins are almost ready, it remains only to add to them the leaves cut out of burlap, felt, cardboard or any other material at hand.

By the same principle, you can make a pumpkin from rings of any material.

Idea 3. Panel of leaves

Next, we present you the idea of \u200b\u200bcrafts from autumn leaves. Since this master class does not use hot glue and sharp objects, you can safely involve children in the work, and especially in collecting material.

An idea for an autumn craft made from natural materials that you can make with your children and use for seasonal home decoration

Materials:

Instruction:

Step 1. Cut the tree with a jigsaw and sand the ends with sandpaper.

Step 2. Paint the board with stain and leave to dry.

Step 3 With a marker, draw a maple leaf on the board by hand, using a template or stencil.

Step 4. Start gluing the pre-dried leaves (see how to dry them at the end of the article) like a fan, trying to place them so that their edges coincide with the outline of the picture. At the same time, you should not glue the leaves completely, let their tops be a little free so that the panel acquires some volume. On each glued leaflet, put some suitable size press for a minute.

Keep in mind that the leaves will not stick immediately, but after the glue dries they will stick well.

Step 5. To make the contours of the picture clearer, trim the leaves in some places. However, try to resort to such correction as little as possible so as not to lose the beauty of natural lines.

Step 6. Now attach a branch to your panel in place of the stem, break off the excess and glue it.

The following selection of photos presents examples of no less original autumn panels.

And finally, we suggest watching a video tutorial on how to make an autumn craft in the form of a panel of leaves with a frame of acorns with your own hands.

Idea 4. Wind music from natural materials and not only

The following project is an example of an interesting, but very easy-to-make craft from natural materials and ready-made parts, which a child can do almost independently.

Materials:

  • Two or one sticks;
  • Natural and factory-made materials for decorating threads: pine cones, flat stones, acorns, wooden beads, metal small candle holders (used in this project) and everything that comes to hand and matches the theme of autumn;
  • Leg-split;
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks.

Step 1. Paint some elements of the future wind music, if necessary. In this master class, the author painted the pebbles in bright yellow and red colors.

Step 2. While the decorations are drying, tie two sticks crosswise and tie the center of the cross with twine as shown in the photo below. You can also use just one long stick or, say, a hoop.

Step 3. Cut 9 ropes of twine to the desired length with a small margin for knots, so that in the future you get two rows on each branch and one in the middle.

Step 4. To create one row of wind chimes, take a piece of twine and start stringing beads or other details on it, passing the ropes through the holes twice or tightening them well into knots. Stones should be additionally fixed with hot glue. In order not to be mistaken with the order, the parts should first be decomposed in the desired order. By the way, it is better to place especially sonorous elements opposite each other so that their chime in the wind can be heard better.

Step 5. Tie knots at the end of each rope.

Step 6. After each thread is finished, tie them to the branches in double knots with the addition of a drop of glue.

Below are other examples of this unusual decoration made from cones, acorns and leaves.

Idea 5. Candlesticks in the form of autumn leaves from salt dough

Leaves can be used not only as a decorative or finishing material, but also as a template and stamp for creating crafts from any mass for modeling. Take note of the idea of autumn crafts with children in the form of such cute leaves from salt dough. By the way, they are not only beautiful in themselves, but can also perform a practical function, for example, you can store various decorations on them or put candles on them.

Materials:

  • Salt Dough Ingredients: ½ cup salt, ½ cup water, 1 cup flour;
  • Container for kneading dough;
  • glass bowl;
  • rolling pin;
  • Large leaves;
  • Vegetable oil;
  • Acrylic paints in yellow, red, orange and brown.

Instruction:

Step 1. The first thing to do is go for a walk with the whole family and find at least two beautiful large leaves.

Step 2. Then knead the salty dough. To do this, simply mix all the ingredients and roll out the dough to about 6 mm thick (no less), so that it is not too thick, but not too brittle.

Step 3. Spread your leaves on the dough and go over it with a rolling pin with light pressure.

Step 4 The next step is to cut out the shape around the sheet. Use a sharp knife and, of course, take this part of the work yourself.

Step 5. Remove the leaves. Turn the glass bowl over and brush it with a thin layer of vegetable oil.

Step 6 Carefully lift the sheets and place them on the bowls.

Step 7. Put the bowls of dough in the oven, preheated to 250 degrees and leave them to bake for 2-3 hours.

Step 8 Remove your pastries from the oven and let them cool without removing them from the bowls for about 15 minutes. Then carefully lift the leaves and leave to cool completely.

blanks

Step 9 Once the bowls are cool, start painting. To do this, pour the paints of each color into cups and let the children mix them themselves and paint the inside of the leaves first, and then the outside. Salt dough crafts are quite fragile, so you need to paint them carefully, without pressure. Wait until the paint dries and, if desired, cover the bowls with a layer of PVA glue. It will give the craft a haze and make it a little stronger.

bowl painting

Leaf shapes may vary.

By the way, if you do not want to mess with salt dough, then you can replace it with soft plasticine. The photo below shows an example of such a craft.

Idea 6. Felt garland

Felt, although it is not a natural material, crafts from it turn out to be the most autumnal. Today we offer you to make the simplest garland of felt leaves.

Materials:

  • Several sheets of felt in autumn colors;
  • Leg-split;
  • Scissors;
  • Glue;
  • Thick threads with a needle;
  • Pencil.

Instruction:

Step 1. Download and print the leaf templates (see template for download below), then cut them out and outline the outlines.

Step 2. Cut out the blanks.

Step 3. Sew the veins by hand with large stitches.

Step 4. Now, maintaining an equal interval, hang the leaves on the twine. To do this, wrap the tail of each leaf around the twine and fix with glue. You can sew on details if you wish. Voila, the autumn felt garland is ready!

Following the principles of this simple master class, you can create a variety of garlands with decorations in the form of acorns, cones, pumpkins, etc. The following selection of photos shows some examples of autumn felt garlands.

How to dry leaves and flowers

Method 1. This method is suitable if you want applications or other bulky crafts. Spread sheets or flowers between the pages of the book at a distance of about 3 mm from each other and shift them to other pages every day (also observing an interval of 3 mm). Within a week, the paper will absorb all the moisture from the plants, and you can use them for creativity.

Method 2. If your craft does not involve the use of flat leaves, then you can dry them by simply gathering them in a bunch and hanging upside down in a dry but ventilated area. At the same time, keep in mind that from the sun's rays the leaves will lose their color completely, and in the shade they will remain.

Method 3. This method is suitable for drying and preserving the color of leaves and cornflowers. Blot fresh, freshly picked leaves / cornflowers with a napkin if they are wet. Place each sheet between two layers of waxed paper, and place a paper towel on top of the resulting "sandwich". Preheat the iron and make sure the steam mode is off. Iron the paper towel with pressure for 2-5 minutes. Turn the "sandwich" over and iron it through the paper towel again, then carefully remove the wax paper.

  • So that the dried leaves and flowers do not break, they must be dipped in a solution of water and PVA glue, diluted in a 4: 1 ratio, and then left to dry.
