Easter wicker basket made of yeast dough. Recipe: Yeast Dough Basket - Surprise for a little girl was a success

The Easter basket is the same symbol of the celebration of the bright Resurrection, as the elegant Christmas tree is the symbol of the New Year. She is also collected, decorated, beautiful capes are embroidered for her, and on the holiday itself, they are looking forward to the return of relatives from the church with a consecrated basket.

If you love the process of preparing for Easter as much as the holiday itself, bake an Easter basket of dough along with Easter cakes. It will not replace a real basket, but will become a beautiful Easter attribute that will remind everyone of the onset of a bright holiday. Especially the kids like to get all kinds of goodies from such a basket, and then tear off a crispy piece from it and eat it with sweet tea. And you can also give such baskets with Easter cakes, eggs and sweets to relatives and friends.

To make the basket strong, we will bake it not from rich, but from ordinary yeast dough.

Recipe Information

Cooking method: baking in the oven.

Total cooking time: 2.5 h

Servings: 1 .

Dough Ingredients:

  • water - 270 ml
  • salt - 1 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • vegetable oil - 2 tsp
  • flour - 450 g
  • dry yeast - 1 tsp

Dough preparation

  1. Dissolve salt and sugar in lukewarm water, add vegetable oil and flour mixed with yeast. Knead the dough and knead it until it starts to stick to the sides of the pan. No additional flour needs to be added. I added all the ingredients to the bread machine and kneaded the dough in a special mode. Technique helps a lot.

  2. Leave the dough to rise under a cling film or towel until it has tripled in size. The dough will rise better in a warm place. You can put a bowl of dough on a pan of warm water.

  3. Basket formation.
  4. Punch down the finished dough, put it on a well-floured table, make a smooth “bun” out of it.

  5. Divide it into several parts.

  6. Remove a third of the dough under a towel, and roll out long strips about a centimeter thick from the rest. Cut the rolled strips into thin strips, which will later be the “rods” of the basket. Try to make the strips even and neat, of the same width, then the basket will turn out to be more beautiful.

  7. Take a metal bowl of a suitable size (metal colander, saucepan, cauldron), wrap it with foil and lay the base of the basket of 6-8 strips of dough, crossing in the center.

  8. Now braid the basket, starting from the bottom to the bottom (skipping a strip of dough in turn under every second strip of the base).

  9. The free edges of the center strips can be trimmed or wrapped.

  10. Press the center of the basket firmly so that it aligns. For this purpose, at the beginning of baking the basket, put a heavy plate or a wide cup of water on top.
    To make the dough well browned, brush the entire surface with sugar water.
    Place the basket in a hot oven to bake at 180 degrees C.

  11. After a while, the basket will harden enough.

  12. Remove it from the foil and switch positions in the oven several times so that all parts are browned evenly.

  13. Take our product out of the oven.

  14. That's how appetizing and beautiful it looks. Hands are reaching out to break off a ruddy barrel and eat it. But let's be patient. We have the final part of the work - to make a handle for the basket so that it takes on a finished look.

  15. From the remaining dough, weave two pigtails - for the edge of the basket and for the handle. Put one pigtail along the edge of the basket, grease with sweet water.

  16. And put the basket in the oven now with the bottom down.

  17. This is how it should turn out.

  18. Put the pigtail for the pen on an inverted bowl covered with foil, also grease with sweet water with a silicone brush and put in the oven.

  19. When it's browned on top, switch positions.

  20. Attach the handle to the finished basket, pin with toothpicks.

  21. That's all - a beautiful and completely edible basket is ready.
  22. You can decorate it, fill it with Easter attributes and put it in a place of honor in the house.

Note to the owner:

  • The dough basket will turn out more ruddy and shiny if you grease it with a mixture of egg yolk, water and sugar in a 1: 1: 1 ratio.

Step by step recipe with photo and video

Graceful openwork baskets with Easter cakes and krashenka are an indispensable attribute of Easter celebrations. Today I propose to prepare an edible version of the Easter basket - from yeast dough. Such beautiful and unusual pastries will be a nice gift or decoration of the festive table.

Making an Easter basket is easy. Just yeast dough makes it easy to experiment with the shape and size of the basket. You can bake small portioned baskets or one large one. The basket retains its shape well, is not capricious of storage conditions and in itself will become a pleasant homemade treat for a morning cup of tea. Let's start?!

Prepare the ingredients.

Mix water and milk and heat to a temperature of 36-37 degrees. Put a drop of milk on the back of your hand to make sure the milk is not too hot. If milk is practically not felt on the skin, the temperature is suitable.

Dissolve salt, regular sugar and vanilla sugar in warm milk.

Sift 300-400 grams of flour. Add yeast - mix dry yeast with flour or dissolve in warm milk (according to manufacturer's recommendations).

Add warm milk mixture to flour. Pour in vegetable oil and add 1 egg.

Mix the ingredients thoroughly and knead the dough. In the process of kneading the dough, add wheat flour, if necessary, until the dough stops sticking to your hands.

Knead the dough for 5 minutes. Then form a ball out of it, place in a greased container and cover with a towel or cling film.

Leave the dough for 1 hour to rise.

When the dough has doubled in size, the dough is ready. You can start preparing the basket.

Divide the dough into two parts. We will work with one, and let the second rest further under a towel.

Roll out the dough to a thickness of about 0.5 cm. And cut into strips. Choose the width of the strips based on the size of the basket and the desired pattern. I have about 0.7-1 cm. The main lines of the basket are thicker, and I do the weaving itself with thinner strips of dough.

Prepare the "shape" for the basket. It can be any heat-resistant bowl or baking dish. I have a small aluminum cauldron. Wrap the selected form with foil and grease with vegetable oil.

Lay the so-called basket guides on the surface of the mold - vertical strips of dough that will become the basis of the basket. Press the dough on top to level the bottom of the future basket.

Punch down the remaining strips of dough (you will get a flagellum from the dough) and weave into the vertical “guides”, placing them horizontally.

Weaving strips of dough, move gradually from the base of the basket to the edges. Lubricate the prepared dough basket with beaten egg.

Bake in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. If your oven refuses to bake the basket evenly, cover the more browned areas of the basket with foil or baking paper soaked in water.

To make sure the basket is ready, pierce the pastry with a wooden toothpick at the thickest part of the basket.

Lubricate the still hot basket with water and cover with a towel - this way the dough will remain soft.

Let the basket cool and remove the mold first and then the foil.

Roll out the second half of the dough and cut into wide strips (about 1.5–2 cm).

Weave a wide braid from strips of dough - a rim on the edges of the basket. As a guide, you can use the print on the baking paper on which the basket was baked.

Lubricate the dough with an egg and bake in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 12-20 minutes until golden brown. Lubricate the finished bezel with water and cover with a towel.

Form the handle of the basket from the remaining dough. To maintain proportion and shape the handle, use the same shape as when baking the basket.

Bake the handle, like the rest of the details of the basket - until golden brown. Then rinse with water, cover with a towel and refrigerate.

When all the details of the basket are ready, it remains only to fasten them with wooden toothpicks.

Easter basket of dough is ready!

Spring is associated with a wonderful, bright holiday - Easter. For this holiday, you can cook many delicious and beautiful dishes, such as Easter wreaths, Easter cakes, colored eggs and even an edible basket, the recipe of which I want to offer you.

Ingredients

To prepare an Easter basket you will need:

warm milk - 1 cup (200 ml);
dry yeast - 1 sachet (11 g);
egg - 1 pc.;
sugar - 1 tbsp. l.;
salt - 1 tsp;
butter - 50 g;
flour - 0.5 kg;
egg yolk - 1 pc.

Cooking steps

Add yeast and sugar to warm milk. Add 2-3 tablespoons of flour, cover with a towel and let stand for 10-15 minutes (to feed the yeast). When the dough is suitable, add salt, egg, melted butter and flour. Knead soft elastic dough.

Put it in a warm place for 40-60 minutes, it should double in size.

Turn a glass bowl upside down and wrap in foil.

and using a roller cutter, cut it into strips about 1.5 cm thick.

Start weaving the basket: place 15 strands of dough vertically along the entire length of the bowl (preferably at the same distance from each other).

Put a load on top of the bundles, thus forming the bottom of the basket.

Leave one small piece of dough to make a handle.

After the Easter basket is fully formed, grease it with egg yolk and bake at 180 degrees until golden brown.

From the dough that we left, form a handle in the form of a pigtail, put it on the bowl in the center and bake until cooked.

In such a beautiful, and most importantly, edible basket, you can put Easter and put Easter eggs.

Surprise your loved ones and have a nice spring holidays!

We invite you to bake a dough basket for Easter. Such an edible basket can be a pleasant and unusual gift for a grandmother. Fill it with colored eggs and sweets.

You can make your own dough. But my daughter and I decided to speed up the process, especially since I don’t know how to cook the dough myself. We bought the dough and set to work on the idea that we found the day before on the Internet.

Easter basket made of dough

You will need: yeast dough 500 gr., rolling pin, pizza cutter (or knife), heat-resistant basket form, foil, parchment and egg yolk.

As a form, we took a metal ball from gift tea. It is small (diameter 13 cm) and consists of two parts. Perfect for a small basket. For a larger basket, take a larger bowl accordingly. As a result, it is easier to work with such a basket after baking - it is easier to weave strips of dough, attach a rim and a handle.

Wrap the bowl in foil and place parchment paper on a baking sheet. This will protect the basket from sticking and burning. If the oven is without parchment, then the edge of the basket may burn.

We roll out the dough as long as possible, since the strips are long. Cutting strips can be entrusted to a child - the process is interesting and trains the visual eye))

Start forming symmetrical weaves on the bowl. Alternate the strips up and down as shown in the photo. If the strip is over (there was not enough dough), then it is better to make the connection under the strip so that the joint is not visible. Important - when all the weaves are ready, press the bottom of the basket with a mug so that it is stable after baking! If you forget this important point, the basket will swing like a tumbler))

When the basket is formed, lubricate it with yolk so that it acquires an attractive golden color when ready. Do not immediately put it in the oven, let the basket rest a little (10-15 minutes).

We send our joint “crafts” to the oven for 20-25 minutes. You will see for yourself when the basket is baked, the color will turn golden.

Remove the finished basket and cover with a towel for a while. While the basket is cooling, bake the rim and handle.

Cut exactly the same strips: you can weave a pigtail out of three strips, you can out of two, as we did. The child coped with this task perfectly on his own! We use the same baking pans to keep the size. We bend the rim around the form and grease with yolk. Lay the handle for the basket on top and also grease with yolk. Bake for 20 minutes, remove from oven and cover with a towel.

When all the parts have cooled, we begin to connect them with toothpicks. I break each of the three toothpicks in half and first connect the rim with the basket. This must be done very carefully so as not to break the bezel! Next, we fasten the handle with two parts of the toothpick, as carefully as possible so that the rim does not detach and the handle does not break! This moment is better done by you, not a child)

Everything, our basket is ready! We put in it everything that we want to give to grandmother, if desired, you can decorate with ribbons.

Important! Do not forget to warn the donee that toothpicks are used in the product! Suddenly, the grandmother decides to eat a basket and a "surprise" from "Little Red Riding Hood" is provided to her on Easter.

Baking such a basket from a purchased dough will not take you much time and at a cost price it turns out to be inexpensive (about 50 rubles). In terms of time with my daughter, we spent no more than 3 hours. The process seemed interesting. At the same time fine motor skills were trained.

Good luck and happy Easter to all!
