Mastic - a product for confectioners is far from new. It is used for wrapping and decorating cakes and other confectionery. With its help, real masterpieces of confectionery art are created. You can make your own mastic (there are many recipes) from condensed milk, marshmallow or gelatin, or you can buy a professional one. Mastic bunnies, princesses, pirate ships - create masterpieces as far as your imagination allows.

Bunny with orange

This little bunny will be a good addition to any celebration. You can make a lot of them to put on cupcakes or just make one to decorate your birthday cake.

What you will need:

  • Finished white mastic;
  • A brush and a glass of water;
  • Green or orange mastic;
  • Modeling tools (hook);
  • Skewers or toothpicks;
  • Sharp knife;
  • Pink food coloring;
  • Black or liquid dye.

Step-by-step instruction

Roll out two balls and give them the shape of an egg. We need one large one for the body and one about 50% smaller for the head.

Carefully holding the hare head in your hands, use the modeling tool (hook) to carefully mark the nose and mouth. From small pieces of pasta, make handles and insert them into the torso. Roll out long, teardrop-shaped bunny ears. Be careful not to make them too long or too thin as they will be unstable and bend. Using the tool, gently push down to form the correct shape of the ears. Then carefully insert a toothpick inside (for support).

Mark the place on the head where the ears will be, and then carefully stick the ear there. Add some water to the bonding area to improve the bond. Roll out two small bunny legs and arms. Use the knife to mark the lines. Roll up a small ball of orange fondant and use the tool to make small dots all over the ball to make it look like a real orange. Make a tiny piece of green fondant and glue it on top of the orange balloon and seal it with water. Now connect the orange and bunny handles with toothpicks. Moisten with water. Attach the legs and make sure the bunny's body sits flat on them. With a brush and a small amount of pink powder paint on the ears and nose, and then draw on the eyes with a black food marker.

How to make an Easter Bunny from mastic (with photo)

Step One: Take a piece of white fondant and shape it into a "rugby ball" or egg shape. This will be your rabbit's head. With your head on one side, take a generous piece of white fondant and form an oval-shaped "egg". You now have the head and body of your rabbit.

Step Two: Take the rabbit's body and stick a toothpick one centimeter where its neck is. Apply a small amount of edible glue around the handle and stick the rabbit's head in place.

Step Three: Using a small amount of pink fondant, roll into a small ball and glue in the center of your bunny's face. Now the rabbit has a nose!

Step Four: Set the rabbit aside for the time being. Take a small amount of orange fondant and form into a sausage that tapers at one end to create a carrot. Roll out three small balls from green mastic. Spread the blunt end of the carrot with food glue and stick green balls there. Carrot is ready!

Step Five: Spread food glue on the place where the carrot will be located, glue it and hold it with your fingers for several minutes so that the glue grabs.

Step Six: Now it's time to create your rabbit's legs! Roll into two balls and shape them into an egg. Flatten one of the sides with your fingers to one millimeter. Now smear them with food glue and put the rabbit on them, pressing down for a couple of minutes.

Step Seven: Form two "carrots" from white mastic. Flatten them slightly and attach them to the torso with edible glue. Place one behind the carrot as if your bunny is holding it.

Step Eight: Mark where the eyes will be and place dots of glue. Roll up two tiny balls and glue them.

So your mastic bunny is ready! The master class can also be applied in the creation of other mastic animals.

Cute bunny from mastic

What do you need?

  • 250 grams of white mastic;
  • Modeling tools;
  • Corn starch;
  • Pink powdered food coloring;
  • Pink dragee - 1 piece;
  • Skewers or toothpicks.

Create a bunny

Dust your work surface with corn starch. To make the bunny's body, roll the mastic into a large conical shape. Stepping back 3/4, use your finger to roll the torso, making the hare a "waist". Bend the top. These are rabbit paws. Make a small incision in the center and spread slightly. Draw the fingers with the tool. Pierce the center of the torso with a skewer or cocktail stick, leaving a small portion for the head to sit on.

Make the legs in a similar way, just cut the paws larger, and then cut them off. Using the blade, cut out circles for the legs, which will later be attached to the torso.

For the ears, roll your own fondant sausages and cut them in half so you have an equal amount for each ear. Form each into an elongated cone with a pointed end. Use a cone tool to make indented lines in the center of each ear, tuck in with slightly pointed ends. Mark on the head the place where you will stick the ears. Pierce the ears with toothpicks and insert into the head.

Cut out emoticon-shaped eyes from black fondant. Use food glue to attach them to the rabbit's face. Paint on the eyelashes and put white dots on the eyes. As a spout, you can use a pink dragee or roll a ball of pink mastic. Place the fondant bunny on the cake.

A cake at any holiday or timed to coincide with some event is an outstanding phenomenon in itself. And when it is decorated with some unusual figurine or ornament, it becomes the center of attention (sometimes even pushing the birthday man into the background). And how nice it is to know that this cake, from the figures to its very base, is made by your hands! But after all, modeling figures, especially from such a sweet and, probably, unyielding material as mastic, is very difficult, you say. Nothing like this! In this step-by-step master class, we will show you, using the example of a cute rabbit, that figurines can be handled “without finishing academies”.

This is how we end up with a bunny:

To make a rabbit, we need:

  • Mastic of three colors
  • Food coloring
  • Spoon

Figurine from mastic: progress of work

1. We make a clearing from green mastic. You can make edges with a spoon. If you are making a clearing on a plate, I advise you to cover it with cling film.

2. Let's move on to creating a rabbit. We take 2 pieces of white mastic and make two small ovals. The larger oval will be the carcass, the smaller one will be the head. Glue one oval to another.

3. We make ears from mastic of the same color. First roll sausages of the same size. We push them with scissors (or the other side of the spoon / fork) and make ears.

4. With the edge of the knife we make a face in the same way as we did the ears. To keep the knife from sticking (and ruining the adorable bunny), dampen it with water.

5. On the formed face, we squeeze the eyes with the reverse side of the aforementioned kitchen utensils. The pupils of the bunny will be food “beads”, and the nose will be a heart made of mastic.

6. We make paws and a tail. We roll 4 ovals and with a knife we make cuts in the paws. And the tail will be a small circle.

It took quite a bit of time and we already have a finished figure! She can decorate the cake or put "in reserve" in the box. Remember that it cannot be stored forever (maximum - two to three months), so making figures "ahead of time" is not always rational.

Moreover, mastic really does not like moisture, so keep the box in a dry place. The refrigerator will not work, because the condensate may well settle on the box, bringing confectionery masterpieces into absolute disrepair.

sweet bunny

In this part, the MK will show the modeling of figures from mastic step by step using the example of a bunny.

Necessary materials:

- mastic of three colors;

- food coloring;

- a spoon;

In the beginning, you need to make a clearing out of green mastic. Cut out the edges with a spoon.

Note! If you want to make a clearing on a regular plate, you should cover it with cling film.

Then proceed to create the rabbit. Take two pieces of white mastic and make two small ovals: large and slightly smaller. The oval, which is larger, will be the carcass, and the smaller one will be the head. Glue these ovals.

Make ears from mastic of the same shade. First, roll sausages of the same size. Push them with scissors and make ears.

With the edge of the knife, make a muzzle in the same way as the ears. It is necessary to moisten the knife with water so that it does not stick to the material.

On the resulting muzzle, push the eyes with the back of the knife. For the pupils, use food "beads", for the nose - a heart made of mastic. It's time for the paws and tail. Roll four ovals and make cuts in the paws. Make a small circle for the tail.

The hare figurine is ready, now you can decorate the cake with it! It should be remembered that the figurines are stored for a maximum of 2-3 months in a cool and closed place.

man and rose

This MK will help you figure out how to make figures of people.

To make a little man, you first need to knead the dough for mastic with the addition of flesh-colored dye. Blind an oval the size of a small chicken egg. Make a hole with a toothpick at the bottom for the navel. Roll up a ball for the head and attach it with a toothpick to the body.

Then draw the face. Make holes for the eyes, draw a mouth. Instead of a spout, attach a small rolled ball. From two flattened balls make ears.

It's time to start pens. Roll out sausages, bend the parts that will be palms and draw fingers. Attach the handles to the body. The peanut is ready!

You can make a toy, a duck or a ball for a toddler. You can also easily mold a girl by adding pigtails and a bow. Mk for the manufacture of figurines from mastic is finished!

To get a beautiful rose, you must perform the following steps:

  1. Roll out small balls from red or pink mastic and lay them out on the board;
  2. Flatten them to cakes and give the shape of petals. The top edge should be thin and wavy.
  3. For the core of the flower, blind a small droplet. Attach petals to the drop, from the smallest to the largest, for a more realistic look. Having blinded the required number of flowers, let dry at least a day.

How to mold Easter bunnies from mastic.

Actually, this MK is for decorating a cake, but the principle of sculpting an Easter Bunny is the same for cold porcelain and salt dough. I hope that it will come in handy for lovers of both))))

And now, with great gratitude, I simply quote the author!

We sculpt the body from white mastic. We insert a toothpick into it (if the end is too long - like mine - cut off), on which we will later fix the head. You can immediately attach a ponytail.

Then we move on to the legs. We roll out the flagellum, cut out 2 identical parts from it, round the edges.

Roll with your finger along the central part, thinning it.

We fold each detail in half, clamping the "heel".

We clamp one side, making it flatter, on the second we press the “fingers” with a knife (I have no idea, to be honest, what these parts of the paws are called))).

Legs are ready. We fasten them to the body (I attach all the details to the water).

For the ears, roll out the flagellum, strongly narrow one edge. We flatten the detail with our fingers and in the lower part we connect the edges (clamping the fold). We attach the ears to the head.

I sculpted paws-handles for bunnies on the cake itself (because until the last I didn’t know what exactly I would do according to the plot), but you can attach them right away. Let the figure dry and start painting. With a dry dye of pink color, we paint the tummy, the paws, the muzzle, the inner parts of the ears, the tail. With food markers or a brush and food coloring, draw eyes. I got such a bunny number 1. He has a brush in his paw, he draws an inscription with green paint.

Bunny No. 2 stands on my straight legs, otherwise it is made in the same way as No. 1.

Bunny No. 3, according to the plot, is carrying Easter eggs to the cart, which broke and all the eggs crumbled. The bunny itself is made exactly the same as #1.

Trolley: From the mastic of a rich brown color, I cut out the details for the cart. You need to let them dry thoroughly.

Then we start assembling the cart. We attach the posts to the base part and attach the side parts to them. The trolley handles are glued on the bottom.

When the cart dries well, you can attach the wheel.

We fill the cart with eggs (I have ready-made chocolate in glaze) and you can put the butterfly on the cart.

Well, the whole cake. How to assemble it look

Hello, friends! I am glad to welcome everyone who decided to pay attention to my post!!!

Today I want to tell you how to fashion funny and cute animals from mastic with your own hands that will delight the kids and cause them indescribable delight. But it's not a secret for anyone that for the sake of the enthusiastic eyes of a child, a mother is ready for a lot. And I will also share the idea of decorating a children's cake.

We need quite a bit: free time, mastic and the desire to create.

First, I will tell and show how to make a bunny. We will need such details as in the photo below: the head is a ball, the body is a voluminous oval, slightly flattened at the attachment points of the legs, and two pairs of legs, thinner - front, thicker - back.

To mold the front paws, roll out a plump sausage and cut obliquely in half with a knife. I sculpted the hind legs piece by piece from sausages with a thickening at one end.

Let's see if the legs and torso are proportionate. If yes, then let's move on. No, we lengthen (shorten) to the desired size.

We begin to collect our figure from the bottom up! We glue the paws to the body, moistening the junction with water with a brush. We bend the tips of the paws up, forming a foot.

Then I cut out a collar from white suit and glued it to the bunny's chest.

Glue glue the front legs to the body with water. We give the desired position.

The most painstaking work is the details of the muzzle. We will need to sculpt the eyes, cheeks, nose and mouth, look at the photo. Do not forget to check the proportionality of the parts with the head. We glue the blanks on the head of the bunny with water.

In order for the head of the hare not to fall off, we use a piece of ... vermicelli to strengthen the connection) We stick the vermicelli in the body so that its tip remains free. We will put our head on it, wetting the joint with water.

It remains to make the ears. From two pieces of gray mastic of the same size, we roll out an elongated droplet and roll it to flatten it to the required thickness and size. From pink mastic we make the same details, but smaller, put them on gray blanks and roll them again - the ears are ready. So that they keep their shape, I stuck a piece of vermicelli inside, so that there was a small free tip, with its help the ears would be securely attached to the head and would neither fall nor peel off.

We fasten the ears to the head, do not forget about the details that will make the bunny especially charming and cute: a white forelock, a small tail, pink mastic heels.

Earlier, I showed the modeling of a slightly different bunny and an ordinary bear. You can look at them here

Now I will show you how to make a panda. We need black and white mastic. The technique of work is similar and the assembly procedure is similar. I will not write too much.

In the photo of the blank for the panda: a ball-head, torso, hind legs and a carriage, from which we will get the front legs.

We also collect the panda from the bottom up.

In order to shape the head, we cut out a heart from black mastic, glue it on the muzzle, for the cheeks we make an oval of white mastic, glue it on top of the heart, and make a nose out of black mastic.

For the ears, we roll two identical balls, flatten each one, forming an eye.

We fasten all the details to the body. We get a panda-sympathetic.

Now my favorite is Shaun the Sheep. I sculpted it late at night from memory, so there was no way to see it.

Black and white mastic. From white mastic we make a voluminous oval body. From black mastic we roll 4 sausages - legs. So that they keep their shape, I stuck a vermicelli inside each leg, so that it passed through the entire length of the leg and left a small free end on top.

We insert the vermicelli into the body, giving the legs the desired position. Wet the joints with water.

From black mastic we make a voluminous oval - the head, with the help of vermicelli we attach it to the body. we make out the muzzle: we attach drop-shaped ears, eyes and mouth.

You can leave the lamb like that, but I wanted it to be curly. Therefore, I proceeded to the jewelry stage itself. From white mastic, I rolled thin ropes, rolled them up with a snail and glued these "curls" to the lamb's body. Don't forget the ponytail and bangs!

By the principle of a panda, you can easily make a bear. We use for it mastic of the same color.

Here is our lamb

runaway bunny

And this is the whole friendly company gathered for a photo as a keepsake

Now I'll show you how to decorate a fun children's cake.

In order for the scene to look complete, and not look like we just put everything we had on the cake, I seated the animals around the cake and a stump with a gift. Now it's clear why they're here.

And now the close-up details

Emerald Turtle

Sweet bee. Innusya made a flower for her.

Little ladybug

It is the charming little things that give the finished look to the cake: bees, ladybugs, flowers and leaves. The time to make them more than pays off with delight in the eyes of your loved ones. As practice shows, these small figures delight adults even more than children, because they understand how delicate and painstaking work it is.

And here is the happy birthday girl

Thanks to everyone who read and watched to the end! I will be very glad if this MK is useful to someone.

Inspiration to you, create, fantasize, surprise and delight your family and friends!!!
