  1. Crack 1 egg into a bowl and lightly beat with a fork.
  2. Add 25 ml of cognac or vodka to the egg and mix well. Do you know? Alcohol is needed to make the dough crispy, but during the cooking process it will completely evaporate, so these cookies can be given to children. Then, in small parts, pour 140 g of flour. Flour must first be sifted. Mix everything with a fork, and when it becomes difficult to mix, knead the dough with your hands until smooth.

  3. Dust the table with flour as needed. The finished dough should be quite dense. Leave it for 10 minutes, and then we can proceed to the formation of brushwood.

  4. Roll out the dough thinly using a noodle machine or a rolling pin. The thinner the dough, the tastier the brushwood will be.

  5. The dough will be thin enough that when you press your finger it will not leave an imprint.

  6. Cut it into rectangles with a pizza cutter.

  7. Then we make an incision in the center of each rectangle and turn one edge of the dough through it.


    Also, using a noodle machine, you can cut part of the dough into wide or thin strips.

  8. Pour 130 ml of vegetable oil into a thick-walled pan and heat it over medium heat.

  9. Put the brushwood in hot oil and fry for 10-15 seconds on each side.

  10. We take out the finished cookies on a plate with a paper napkin.

  11. We fry the dough sticks in the same way, but it will take only 5-7 seconds to cook it on each side.

  1. In a deep bowl, mix 250 ml of cold water and 1 pinch of salt. Stir the water with a spoon to dissolve the salt.

  2. Then gradually add 600 g of wheat flour and knead the dough. It should be quite soft and non-sticky. If the dough sticks, you can add a little more flour.

  3. In order to make it more convenient to work with the dough, we divide it in half and roll out each part in turn with a rolling pin. It must be rolled out very thinly so that the brushwood is crispy.

  4. Cut the dough with a knife into thin strips.

  5. Then we cut the strips into 3 identical parts. Make a small slit in the center of each rectangle and turn one end of the dough through it.

  6. Heat 110 ml of vegetable oil in a deep frying pan or cauldron. Choose unscented refined oil. When the oil is hot, put the brushwood there and fry on both sides until golden brown.

  7. After that, we take it out on a paper towel so that the fat is absorbed.

  8. While the brush is hot, sprinkle it with powdered sugar.

  4. In a cauldron or thick-walled saucepan, heat 330 ml of vegetable oil. We wind a strip of dough on a fork and lower it into hot oil. Fry the brushwood until golden brown.

  5. Next, prepare the sugar syrup. Mix 400 g of sugar and 400 ml of water. Stir the mixture constantly and bring to a boil. Boil the syrup for about 15 minutes. Add 280 ml of liquid honey to the finished syrup and bring to a boil again.
  6. When the brushwood has cooled a little, pour it with honey syrup and, if desired, decorate with powdered sugar.
