Squid heh is a very tasty and moderately spicy appetizer that is ideal for the festive table, while being prepared easily and quickly.

LIST OF INGREDIENTS

  • 1 kg. peeled squid
  • 250 gr. carrots in Korean
  • 1 bulb
  • 4-5 cloves of garlic
  • 5 tbsp vegetable oil (50 gr.)
  • 4 tsp 70% vinegar essence (25 gr.)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground coriander
  • 0.5 tsp red hot pepper
  • 0.5 tsp ground black pepper
  • 1 tsp sesame

Korean-style SNACK HYE SQUID - STEP-BY-STEP RECIPE

We send the pre-cleaned squid carcasses to a pot of boiling unsalted water and boil them for no more than one minute from the moment of boiling so that they remain soft.

After a minute, remove the pan from the stove and transfer the squid carcasses to ice water to stop the cooking process.

Once the squids have cooled, remove them from the water.

Cut the squid prepared in this way lengthwise into 2 parts, and then cut them across into strips, no more than 1 cm thick.

We shift the chopped squids into a bowl, add salt and 70% vinegar essence.

Mix well and set aside for half an hour.

While the squids are marinating, prepare the onions.

We cut the onion into a quarter of the ring, pour vegetable oil into the pan, pour the onion and fry until slightly golden.

Remove the pan from the stove, and while it has not cooled down, add chopped garlic to the fried onion, mix well.

In the meantime, the squids have marinated and let the juice flow, drain it.

Add fried onion with garlic to the bowl with squid, add red hot and black pepper, paprika, ground coriander and prepared carrots in Korean.

Mix everything thoroughly and add the sesame seeds fried in a dry frying pan.

We send heh from squid to the refrigerator for a couple of hours, and preferably at night, so that the appetizer is infused, but as a rule, it does not have time to infuse, so feel free to cook a double portion!

Serve heh cold, sprinkled with roasted sesame seeds and garnished with a sprig of greens.

If you wish, you can cook heh exclusively from squid, but in my opinion with vegetables it turns out more juicy and tasty.

  1. Sesame seeds are dried and fried in a dry frying pan.

Therefore, it is better to take whole carcasses, cut them in half lengthwise, then again lengthwise, and then crumble each piece into strips.

Ingredients:

  • 420 g squid;
  • bulb;
  • two cloves of garlic;
  • a spoonful of sesame seeds;
  • a spoonful of granulated sugar, rice vinegar and soy seasoning;
  • six tablespoons of oil;
  • a spoonful of coriander, paprika and pepper.

Cooking method:

  1. Dry the sesame seeds in a hot pan. As soon as the seeds become "golden", pour in oil, vinegar and soy seasoning, and also pour out all the dry spices. After a few seconds, put the garlic cloves squeezed through the press, as well as granulated sugar. Salt to taste.
  2. We warm up well, but do not boil the ingredients, remove from the stove and give the marinade time to cool.

  • bulb;
  • 60 ml of oil;
  • a spoonful of sesame seeds and soy marinade;
  • a spoonful of vinegar (9%);
  • three garlic cloves;
  • salt and pepper (red and black) to taste.

Cooking method:

  1. First of all, the tentacle must be cleaned of a dark film, and then placed in boiling water for two minutes. Then drain hot water and pour cold water.
