Preparing the "Winter King" is elementary. We take cucumbers, wash them thoroughly, immerse them in a pot of water and leave for an hour or two - thanks to this simple procedure, cucumbers, even cut into slices, will remain slightly crispy. And guaranteed not to soften when cooked.


Then we cut the cucumbers into circles. It can be thicker, it can be thinner. I cut it thin.


Put the cucumbers in a bowl. We cut the onion into half rings, finely chop the dill.


We put the onion and dill in the same pan where the cucumbers are already. Sprinkle vegetables with salt, mix and leave for 1 hour. During this time, they will release juice.


During this time, we prepare jars and lids. Everyone sterilizes them as best they can. I put the jars upside down in a double boiler and hold over the steam for 15 minutes, boil the lids in a ladle.

Salad "Winter King" is made without sterilization. We just boil lightly salted cucumbers in the marinade. Pour sugar into a saucepan with cucumbers, pour vinegar.
