1. We clean a couple of onions and cut into small cubes.

We put it in a pan and grind it with a fork and a knife (or two forks) almost into crumbs. Salt, season with spices and herbs. Then, stirring, fry for 5-10 minutes, until cooked. 2. We wash from dirt with running water, peel. Cut into plastics 3-4 mm thick. You don't have to do it by hand if you're sure your food processor or blender will do the job better.

You can also grate potatoes on a coarse grater (in principle, chopping using home appliances is quite feasible, but in this case, you may have to reduce the cooking time in the oven to 30-40 minutes)
