Olivier is associated with the onset of winter and the New Year holidays for everyone without exception. He is familiar to us since childhood and has bothered us in many ways. Now everyone is trying to replace it with some new and interesting salad. But still, you can’t do without Olivier, and we suggest you serve it in a completely extraordinary way - like a Santa Claus hat. It will immediately be noticeable on the table and will cause a flurry of emotions in all guests.

What you will need:

  • Eggs - 3 pcs.;
  • Potato tubers - 2 pcs.;
  • Carrot - 3 pcs;
  • canned cucumbers - 6 pcs. (it is better to take gherkins);
  • Boiled sausage / ham (to taste) - 200 grams;
  • mayonnaise;
  • Bulb;
  • Salt and pepper as desired.

How to cook:

  1. We cook vegetables and eggs, as is usually the case for Olivier.
  2. Cut potatoes and cucumbers into cubes.
  3. Having previously removed the protein, cut the yolks into cubes;
  4. Three protein on a grater (fine).
  5. We cut half of the carrots we have into cubes. And the second - three on a coarse grater.
  6. Meat or sausage should be cut into cubes.
  7. Peel the onion and chop finely.
  8. We put the products that we cut into cubes in a container and mix thoroughly, season with mayonnaise. Salt and pepper.
  9. Let's start serving Santa's Hats. We put Olivier on a dish in the form of a triangular cap.
  10. On the hat we spread the grated carrot as the color of the hat. We use grated protein as a white pompom and the edge of the cap.
  11. If desired, the hat can be painted on top with mayonnaise patterns. Although without them, our original updated New Year's Olivier can be served on the table.

"Ladybug"

This salad may not have been familiar to you before, but all guests will also like its taste and serving.

You will need:

  • Sour cream - 100 grams;
  • Mayonnaise - half a can;
  • Cheese - 100 grams;
  • Pitted prunes - 25 pcs.;
  • Nuts - 6 pcs.;
  • Apples - 4 pcs.;
  • Boiled potatoes - 4 pcs.;
  • Eggs - 4 pcs. (boiled);
  • Boiled beets - 1 pc. (large sizes);
  • Red onion - 1 pc.;
  • Garlic - 1g;
  • Salt and pepper to taste.

Cooking instructions:

  1. Soak the prunes, peel and grate the apples;
  2. Cut the onion, add apples, salt and pepper to taste. Sprinkle lemon juice on top, mix the products and leave to marinate.
  3. Grate the potatoes and put on a plate as the first layer. Top with mixed mayonnaise and sour cream.
  4. Finely chopped boiled eggs are our second layer.
  5. Put a mixture of apples and onions on top - 3rd layer;
  6. Grated nuts - 4 layer;
  7. Three cheese on a coarse grater and lay out as a 5th layer, top with a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise.
  8. We drain the water from the soaked prunes, put 6 of them aside - this is a decoration for the salad. The remaining 19 pieces are finely cut and put on the salad like a head and a strip between the wings of a ladybug.
  9. We grind the boiled beets on a grater (it will be faster on a coarse grater) and add the garlic passed through the garlic, add a mixture of mayonnaise and sour cream. We smear on top of the surface, thus making the wings of our ladybug. The 6 prunes set aside before this will serve as spots on her wings.

Another original salad for the New Year 2017 is ready. It remains to cool it a little, and it is ready to serve!

Festive Christmas tree

Cooking instructions:

  • Crab sticks - 100 grams;
  • Boiled eggs - 3 pcs.;

  • Half a glass of rice (boiled);
  • Coconut shavings / grated cheese / egg whites (to taste).

  • Bank of mayonnaise;

Recipe:

This appetizer is made from the ingredients of the well-known crab salad, but it will look like a unique decoration on the table.

  1. Cooking marinade for onions: 5 tablespoons of water, 5 tablespoons of 6% vinegar, 2 tablespoons of sugar;

  • Cherries in sugar - 10 pcs.;

  8. Cut candied fruits into 20 small pieces.

Schnitzel a la Viennese

This recipe is taken from Australian cuisine and will allow you to get on with amazing battered schnitzels that will “melt” in your mouth.

  • Veal or pork - 800 grams
  • Chicken egg - 2 pieces
  • Flour - 7 tablespoons
  • Breadcrumbs - 6 tablespoons
  • Vegetable oil
  • Salt, pepper to taste

Cooking process:

Step 4 Drain the cooked dish on paper towels to remove excess oil. Serve to the table, decorating the schnitzels with herbs.

Pork in beer

A great recipe for those who like to experiment.

Required Ingredients:

  • Pork - 800 grams
  • Tomatoes - 2 pieces
  • Onion - 2 heads
  • Canned corn - 3 tablespoons
  • Light beer - 300 ml
  • Mustard - 1.5 tablespoons
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • Ground paprika - 2 teaspoons
  • Sunflower oil

Cooking process:


Step 1. This dish is best prepared with pork shoulder or ham. If you are a beef lover, you can take it too, you just have to increase the cooking time. Excess fat that is on the meat is better to cut off. Cut the pork tenderloin into small 2 cm cubes.

Step 3 Now you need to peel the tomatoes. To do this, you need to dip them in boiling water for a few minutes, get them out, make small cross-shaped incisions and carefully remove the skin. After cut into small cubes and put in a saucepan.

Step 4 Add corn, paprika, mustard, pepper, salt to meat, onions and tomatoes. Pour all the products with beer, and simmer over low heat for about an hour, stirring occasionally. If the meat sauce turns out to be liquid, you can thicken it with a few tablespoons of flour.

Fish in sour cream

This simple dish will take you only an hour, so you can safely include it in the New Year's list.

Required Ingredients:

  • Fish fillet - about 800 grams
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Onion - 2 heads
  • Sour cream - 250 grams
  • Flour - 1 tablespoon
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Ground white pepper
  • Dill fresh

Cooking process:

Step 1. Prepare the fish: wash the pieces, dry them with paper towels, then cut into small portions. Next, they should be salted, sprinkled with lemon juice and sent to the refrigerator for 60 minutes.

Step 2 While the fish is marinating, light the oven and let it warm up well to 190 degrees. Take a baking dish and grease it with butter. Unusual fish roll

This is a rather original recipe that will delight guests with a juicy carrot and green bean filling. It looks impressive and attracts with its charming aroma.

Required Ingredients:

  • string beans
  • Salt, pepper to taste
  • Olive or sunflower oil
  • Tomato sauce - 200 ml
  • bunch of parsley

Step 3 Spread the fish fillet, press it a little to the surface, put some carrots and beans in the middle. Wrap the rolls and pierce with toothpicks so that they do not fall apart.

Step 4 Pour the tomato sauce into a saucepan and bring it to a boil. As soon as you see that it has begun to boil, carefully lower the fish rolls into it, close the lid and let it simmer over medium heat for 10 minutes.

Step 5 While the dish is stewing, finely chop the greens and also send to the saucepan. Drizzle each roll with oil and bring back to a boil. Turn off, let the dish brew.

Step 6 Serve the fish rolls slightly cool, and do not forget to remove the toothpicks.

This recipe is for 4 servings. If you need to cook more, just increase the amount of ingredients. By the way, such fish rolls will look great on any table, even casual, even festive.

  • Greens (cilantro or parsley)
  • Black pepper (ground)
  • Sesame
  • Vegetable oil

Products for the test:

  • Flour - one and a half cups
  • Warm water - 0.6 cups
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • A pinch of turmeric
  • pinch of coriander
  • Vegetable oil

Cooking process:

Step 1. It is advisable to sift the flour through a sieve, pour it into a bowl and add coriander, salt, turmeric and oil there. Mix everything well and pour warm water. Knead elastic dough, add water or flour as needed.

Step 2 Wash the potatoes, cover with water and put on the stove. Boil until tender, then remove the peel and mash the tubers with a fork so that there are no lumps. Add salt, spices, finely chopped greens and sesame seeds to the potato mixture. Mix everything thoroughly.

Step 3 Roll out the dough about 4 mm thick, and put the potato filling into it in an even layer. Roll the dough into a roll.

This bright New Year's salad must be on the festive table. The role of the “cap” in this dish is played by pomegranate seeds. By the way, some experts say that pomegranate is a symbol of longevity and health, so you can take note of this recipe.

Required Ingredients:

  • Smoked chicken (preferably fillet) - 400 grams
  • Potato tubers - 300 grams
  • Carrots - 300 grams
  • Hard cheese - 150 grams
  • Walnuts - 60 grams
  • Chicken eggs - 4 pieces
  • Mayonnaise - 300 ml
  • Pomegranate

Cooking process:



Step 1. Potatoes and carrots need to be boiled and finely cut into cubes. Place the vegetables in two different plates and mix with a small amount of mayonnaise.

Step 2 Cool the boiled eggs and peel, then crumble. Smoked meat is also finely chopped. After that, grate the cheese on a coarse grater, and chop the walnut into medium-sized crumbs. Peel the pomegranate, carefully removing all the seeds.

Step 3 Take a metal mold (if not, you can make it out of cardboard) and lay out the products in layers: the first is potatoes, the second is smoked chicken, the third is walnuts, the fourth is hard cheese, the fifth is carrots, the sixth is eggs. Top with pomegranate seeds. Each layer should be well coated with mayonnaise to make the salad juicy.

"Snow Maiden"

Required Ingredients:

  • Hard cheese - 250 grams
  • Eggs - 6 pieces
  • A couple of cloves of garlic
  • Canned food “Humpback salmon” – 2 cans
  • Medium potatoes - 3 pieces
  • Big apple - 1 piece
  • Mayonnaise
  • Sulguni cheese

Cooking process:
